64 vs. 90

Im gonna get either NOTLD '64 version or 90 version. Now i only have enough money for one sooo....which one should i get, I liked them both, but i need some help deciding

megalomaniac 09-15-2004 09:43 PM

i have the black and white NOTLD on dvd and thats the only way to watch that movie

IDrinkYourBlood 09-16-2004 10:50 AM

well im going with the 90's version I mean its the same and all, basically just in color. So im getting that cuz i cant find the original version anywere.

Sam The Egg 09-16-2004 11:13 AM

64 is great, 90 kinda sucked

Oats 09-16-2004 11:16 AM

90 is so underrated its shameful, i thought the movie was excellent, people just want to sound like "purists" pfff i tells ya pfff

Oats 09-16-2004 11:19 AM

btw NOTD is 68'

Sam The Egg 09-16-2004 11:33 AM

the guy who plays Mean White Man is horrible, they turned the girl into Ripley, and the ending is all wrong

Oats 09-16-2004 11:49 AM

well me likey a lot, only turn off was as you said the ending, kinda lost the key meaning but then again 90 was a diff. time, race tensions weren't like they were

MichaelMyers 09-16-2004 01:15 PM

I liked both, but prefer the B&W version.

That is crazy, where I am at I cant find the 1990 version, the 68 version is everywhere though.I picked up 68 on dvd at the pawnshop for 5 bucks.

Vodstok 09-16-2004 01:27 PM

Its a free download if you know where to look, and it doesnt even step on any copyright toes...

*cough * here *cough*

IDrinkYourBlood 09-16-2004 03:45 PM

well i got the 90's version today, 68 or 90 its still a win win situation.

CursedRatMonkey 09-18-2004 06:03 AM

Why do people think it sucks?
Because it is a little different?
The 90's Night was a great remake considering that it got vary close.
But you can never ask to have a perfect remake because it wont happen.

Vampenguin 09-18-2004 06:15 AM

I wanna see the remake.....The 1st is awesome

CursedRatMonkey 09-18-2004 06:17 AM

Savini did a good job I think.

movieman64 09-18-2004 06:46 AM

I like both of them, and have watched the several times, even though I'm not a fan of re-make's, this one was not to bad. Save your cash and buy them both.

I don't normally promote suppliers, but I buy a lot from these guys, I've never had any problems, and if you buy 3 or more items the shipping only like $3.00.

All I need to find is the Remake, I can buy the original at a dollar store now.

...Alot of classic horrors are being forgotten.
WE MUST REVIVE THEM!

KRUGERKID13 09-19-2004 07:39 AM

both excellent films but gotta stick with the original and i thought the remake was lacking in gore especilly since savini directed it

i love the remake! well... i just love tony todd (and i know i'm not the only one, right orangestar ;) ) but it was a decent remake. so the both of them are a must have in my book.

MichaelMyers 09-20-2004 01:13 PM

Agreed, it was better than some recent re-makes (DOTD, TCM, etc.).

hellfire1 09-20-2004 05:11 PM

the dotd remake was more action than horror as most would agree, so i think it was a pretty good action movie. but the tcm remake... jessica biel should have been the one hanging on that meat hook. that movie pissed me off sooo much!

IDrinkYourBlood 09-20-2004 06:15 PM

well i guess you dont like me then, cuz i like the TCM remake/retelling whatever you wanna call it. even got it on new line platinum dvd first day haha
