what's wrong with people my age...

ok so at school i was walking down the hall with a group of friends i said "have any of you seen the original texas chainsaw massacre" they all pretty much said "that movie was so boring Jason X is a way better horror movie" then i went on to ask if they saw halloween and they all pretty much also said "resident evil is better because it has more action and it is scarier"

i was confused i am probably the only person in school who's top 5 horror movies dont have "resident evil" ,"jason x" or "i know what you did last summer"

Sistinas 09-04-2004 08:51 AM

Fight the good fight, mm!:)

Egekrusher 09-04-2004 08:53 AM

That's it. I'm coming to your school. It's time these people learned what the word "castration" means.

LilMissScareAll 09-04-2004 08:55 AM

How could anyone think Jason X is better than Texas Chainsaw Massacre? :p Or that Halloween is not as good as Resident Evil? I think Halloween & TCM are much more interesting. :p

Arioch 09-04-2004 08:57 AM

Ya and TCM the remake was a box office smash....

The majority of people are sheep, when it comes to movies, politics, fads, culture, everything....

Alot of people will go to see whatever is out there, alot of people have no trouble eating what they are being handed.....

fluffho 09-04-2004 06:21 PM

i just watched the original TCM and althouh it was a bit slow running (as most films of the time) and made me sleepy it was pretty damn good.

didnt see the new, jason x was horrible, and resident evil was entertaining. the new one though looks badddddd (the bad bad, not the cool bad)

KRUGERKID13 09-04-2004 06:24 PM

i go through the same shit at school

kid: Dude why you watch movies about cannibals

me: cause im going to kill and eat you

Vampenguin 09-04-2004 06:28 PM

Know how ya feel man. My friends are worse. They refuse to watch any horror movie that

A) Has a good plot (With the Excption of "The Ring")
B) Wasnt made in the last 5 years

It took me a long time to convince them that Pirates of the Carribean was in no way a horror movie.

And also......they think the following movvies are "Horror"

The Mummy Remake
Van Helsing
Underworld
Edward Scissorhands

and last but not least....

FUCKING GHOSTBUSTERS!!!!!!!!

All of which are great movies, but horror? Sweet Jesus no

KRUGERKID13 09-04-2004 06:29 PM

the only one i would consider horror would be ghostbusters but that was when i was 5 know i relise that its the greatest comedy/horror hybrid ever

Arioch 09-04-2004 06:37 PM

Agreed....

Hate_Breeder 09-04-2004 06:39 PM

God i hate the fucking mummy movies.......

Distorty 09-04-2004 06:53 PM

I think the best way to fix this problem is to just leave school, and never go back.

FilthyCannibal 10-19-2004 07:10 PM

I had the same problem in high school. I was never so glad as when I graduated. The "in crowd" always made me want to throw up on their expensive shoes

Sam The Egg 10-19-2004 07:16 PM

I feel so fucking old talking to my friends about anything involving music or movies...

Are you gunna ban the whole school?

Heretic_Ideals 10-19-2004 07:28 PM

One solution hack them all up with a chainsaw then ask them how boring it was.

orangestar 10-19-2004 07:43 PM

Im in the same situation except worse because Im a girl and in the "preppy" crowd, and Im a cheerleader.

Im famous as the 'movie girl' all over school and so people are always asking me what I've watched. Here's how those conversations go:

Person:Hey, what movies did you watch last night?
Me: Cannibal Holocaust, King of the Ants, and Dawn of the Dead.
Person: Well the first two sound gay, but the last one r0xorz!
Me: The original Dawn.
Person: oh......*slowly walks away*

Arioch 10-19-2004 07:56 PM

Everyone called me Satan in school....:(

I'll come to. I bet these dumb punks don't even know who Leatherface is... -grabs chainsaw- lets teach them a Horror lesson that they'll never forget.

And I'm not to smart when it comes to words, but I believe "castration" means to cut off a mans penis. Or is it balls? Either way, it's not a pretty sight.

And Arioch I've never been called Satan before, but they have called me "that Horror freak". And something else, just because that accident where the Holy Water burnt my skin. I mean, God, it's not like it to just burn because im a so called 'demon' it's because theres something wrong with that water. But nooo, no law suits, because I'm a "demon". God damn idiots...

Those movies are derived from horror. I think they are horror movies in a way, even if they only scare little children.

Hey you should be proud! Mine was HotChicken!!!

Ninja Moo 10-20-2004 07:15 AM

I get frustrated too when I'm talking to someone younger who finds out I love horror movies. Then they get excited, say something like, "No way! Me too. Texax Chainsaw rocks!" (Or whatever other popular mainstream movie is going around at the time..)

Then you bring up originals, or even non-mainstream and you get blank stares.. and then they usually have the audacity to roll their eyes, says, "oooooooookay" and act like I'm the fucking retard.

Steve_Hutchison 10-20-2004 07:24 AM

Someone noticed my Dawn of the Dead DVD in its rack and "accused" me of buying it after seeing the remake. I get shit like that all the time. Funny.

coffinbaby 10-20-2004 08:13 AM

Yeah you guys did the same thing to me wheni got here, when you accused me of buying the TCM DVD after seeing the TCM Remake , man was i basjed for that.

Steve_Hutchison 10-20-2004 10:36 AM

well, did you?

I was called "Shaggy", get this, because i had long hair. Not shaggy as in "Shaggy dog" (a long haired dog), but as in "raggy", as in"rut roh raggy" from Scooby Doo.

Now, correct me if i'm wrong, but, does this little hippie retard have long hair?
http://www.execulink.com/~joelb/faq/pics/shaggy.gif

Nope, i dont see it either. Public schools are full of idiots, i swear togod.....

Modestas 10-20-2004 11:46 AM

texas chainsaw massacre is one of the best horror moviez ever! there's no doubt! and such films as "resident evil" is just a big shit, from todays teenages dream world. I agree, if you will ask the persons who r 16-22 years old, have they watched "evil dead" "tmc" or something similar... u will get the answer: "no, i dont know what r u talking about". todays teenages are dived into the fantasy world, and the bigest heroes for them are: heroes from resident evil, eminem or something similar. i can put big shit on such stars... tofdays teenages haven't seen the good old horror moviez, they have seen only todays moviez. my friends are such "modern' too. once when I talked about freaks (1932) or tmc (1974), my friend said: "I wouldn't watch the movie, it was made in the past, if it is old. I watch only modern movies."
