okay, you've been warned not to read this so if you actually go ahead and read it anyway it's your own fault. don't flame me for putting up a political post. you've been warned. so without further ado, here's my take on the RNC so far....
this is ridiculous. the RNC is driving me insane. yet i can't look away. it's like the proverbial train wreck but so much worse. these people are terrifying. truly frightening. you get guliani up there, making jokes and speaking beautifully and eloquently like only rudy can. he grabs your heart strings by telling 911 stories yet when you swat away the dust and fog he's saying NOTHING about george w. you THINK he is, because he's speaking at w's convention, but when you really look at what he's saying he's just making a great pro america speech, having nothing to do with GWB, yet bush gets to reap the benefits anyway because it's HIS convention. it's almost like he was LUCKY that 911 happened during his term. and then you get arnold up there, quoting his own movies, being charismatic and getting everyone on his side. yet it's not GWB he's promoting. he's promoting himself. but like rudy, GWB gets to reap the benifits because it's his convention. then the daughters come up. all cute and giggly. and you think to yourself, "aahhhh, look at these cute little girls." but it all has NOTHING to do with bush's policies and his record as president. it's smoke and fucking mirrors. we see these charismatic people speaking at his convention so we're supposed to vote for him. but none of them have anything good to say about him. there just up there being cute and funny. ahhhhhhh..... !! i'm so frustrated. now laura is speaking. i would rather listen to hillary clinton talk about her own ass crack than listen to laura defend GW. grrrr..... this is not to say the kerry is any better. he's an indecisive knucklehead. the whole thing is soo stupid. the GOP wants to stand up there and say USA! USA! USA! like the democrats are anti-american or something. and like kerry's behavior in a war that happened 40 years ago (which may or may not be true) has any kind of bearing on current events, when kerry is obviously a different a person and times in general are extremely different. nobody (R or D) wants to talk about the real issues. i hate it. hate it. hate it. HATE IT!!! yet i can't look away. it's my country. can you love your country yet hate it's leaders? is that possible? i miss bill clinton so much i could puke. the man did everything right. the quintesential american. he came from NOTHING and ended up in the white house. he smoked pot and cheated on his wife. he was the essence of america and i miss him SO much. politics make me sick. i must stop this now because i'm gonna vomit. there. i wrote it, i posted it, i warned you not to read it and if you did it's your own fault. so don't flame me. if you have an intelligent response i'd love to hear it. if not, just ignore this and move on to the next freddy vs jason vs ash vs rocky thread. that topic is a hell of lot more interesting than george vs john anyway. |

I read it, and like you and others, I'm disgusted about how the Repubs us 9/11 as their platform. And what was Ahnold doing up there? That was a total publicity stunt.
Did you also notice that the Repubs speant most of their time bashing the Dems. However, John Kerry invited Shrub (Bush) to an intelligent debate. |
Conventions were designed to elect a candidate. Now the candidate has pretty much been determined, although unofficially, by the time the convention rolls around. It's a party pep rally. I'm sure every speakers intent is to sway voters, and in some ways they do. I thought Arnold's speech last night was great. I especially loved the part about how he lived in the grasp of communism, came to this country, saw the party conventions, asked a friend to interpret what was said, and replied he was a Republican. The First Lady's speech was great and her very high popularity ratings attest to that.
I'm voting for G. Bush tonight will be even better! |
I'm not getting political at all here.
BUT. I like Movieman's enthusiasm. :) Although, i wouldnt vote for gw if the world was faced with nuclear war and he was the new jesus. |

What a FUCKING joke. Did everything right ? Yeah...... I like the way he let a thug like Kim Chong il black mail us over nuclear weapons. I like the way he sent those RANGERS to their deaths over a piss-ant warlord in Somalia. Now that was a battle worth fighting for. What about NAFTA ? You liberals never cease to amaze me. Democratic and Republican conventions are nothing more that pep ralleys. I'm a BUSH supporter but even I could not stomach it when they started pimping the widow of the guy that helped bring the one plane down. |

Saadam is a evil man. Invaded Kuwait and wanted Iran. Killed 300,000 plus kurds. That includes women and children. That number does not include all the other people in his country. Have you ever seen the film clips of Iranian citizens getting their tongues cut out with a razorblade. No doubt they were being punished for exercising freedom of speech rights that they dont have. You know.... that right that you guys are always screaming about. Have you ever heard about people going to the market and seeing little kids heads in garbage cans because they were being unruley. Have you ever seen the film clips of helicopters mowing down civilians on the road because they were leaving war areas. Families trying to escape war areas.
Now tell me again how you can compare IRAQ with SOMALIA? |

I was talking to arioch. He seems to have a " Shit Happens" Attitude with 9/11.. I had to pick up buffalo wings that used to be innocent people that were guilty of going to work that Day...He has a beef with a President that is actually doing something about it..... He got over 9/11 " Pretty quick". My point is, Mabye he would have a different attitude if it happened in his town. |
