People Under the Stairs

Well i just watched this last night and i must say i liked it. I like how the little kid kicked the shit outta everyone throughout the whole movie, when you know in real life the kid wouldve been dead the first ten minutes of the movie. But it was a very good movie in general. Whatd you guys think?

Vodstok 08-30-2004 11:51 AM

I have always loved that movie. that freaky-ass inbred dude in the leather gets more nut-shots in that movie than anyone i have ever seen :)

Very good movie, but it could've been great. I love the whole first part of it when they first get into the house, though.

Hate_Breeder 08-31-2004 08:07 PM

Did anyone else notice that the Rottweiller is like a Visa card in that movie. Hes every where you want to be!

Preacher 09-01-2004 05:04 AM

And a flexible friend too!!!

megalomaniac 09-15-2004 08:53 PM

loved people under the stairs. the kid did kick some ass! the couple were pyscho. they belonged on a house on top of a hill

Distorty 09-15-2004 08:56 PM

The mother and father made that movie

Good movie though, one of Wes' good films/.

MichaelMyers 09-15-2004 10:30 PM

It's been awhile since I've watched it. Great irony with Christianity if anyone caught it.

SoUl SuRvIvOrS 09-15-2004 10:54 PM

Damn I havent seen this movie in years....

thepsychicfetus 09-16-2004 05:10 AM

i do remember liking it though, cause when i was a kid there was definately a weird room under my basement stairs that i absolutely never went near for obvious reasons. good movie.

MichaelMyers 09-16-2004 08:48 AM

Cowboy up!

g star 09-19-2004 05:01 PM

i probably put this in my top ten. i might have to think about it a bit but i'm pretty sure i can't think of nine better horror movies than this one.

thecritic 09-23-2004 06:01 PM

Agree with everyone, that this is a great movie. I remember watching it when I was like 6 or 7, and it scared the shit out of me...I think that mainly it was the dog. (Understanding that at my young age, I didn't fully understand what the overall movie was really about) But watching it now, is so much more enjoyable. A GREAT FLICK

FairyKorpes 10-20-2004 07:18 PM

I haven't seen this yet, but it's on in 45 minutes on Scream. I was debating staying up, but seeing as how everyone likes it. I'm gonna bare the lack of sleep and watch it.

Its well worth it and the little kid kicks some serious ass throughout the whole movie.

rotten_fetus 10-20-2004 10:04 PM

dude, come over this weekend and we will rent hella scary movies!

FairyKorpes 10-20-2004 10:35 PM

It was ok. There was a good theory there, but it could have been better. The ending when the "people" smashed through the walls and stairs? Why didn't they do that from the get go? I did like the kid and he was great, but stealing the coins and going to a coin guy to sell them...i mean just seemed kinda...i don't know. But over all it was ok.

bwind22 10-20-2004 10:51 PM

I liked this movie a lot. I saw it about 10 years (give or take a year) ago when it first came out no video and I thought it was pretty cool. I love a nice, twisted, completely fucked up story like that.

I liked Roach. He was funny.

EXTR3MIST 10-22-2004 03:17 AM

Fool is good, and the S/M overtones in the demented, zipped-up father.

Dig the end music too, the brilliant Do The Right Thing by Redhead Kingpin and the FBI.

allmykids 10-22-2004 08:23 AM

I have got to buy this one!! I never get tired of it!! Love the brother/sister thing!!

natas 10-25-2004 07:29 PM

Great movie!

:p

I havent seen this in a long time so i just picked this movie up today with "A Tale of Two Sisters"... I'll give my review of it later tonight... I remember liking it though.

Just watched this movie and its a good movie. I would give it a 8.5/10.
Not the scariest movie but its entertaining. The plot, acting and ending are all good. Lot of parts made me laugh... Reminded me kinda like the goonies and even home alone at times. You had to laugh at Daddy's costume and when Fool was throwing those punches at the dog and at Daddy. Corny but funny in a good way. One of the funnier horror movies....

Yellow Jacket 07-07-2005 12:56 PM

I LOVED THIS MOVIE!!! I think it is one of Craven's best films. Now, only if he could make movies like this nowadays.

Monkeytoes 07-08-2005 10:43 AM

Definitely a favorite of mine.

ItsAlive75 07-08-2005 11:20 AM

The only good part of that movie was when they shock that dog.

If there were no cages and the black people were white, would you have fonder memories of the movie?
