where are all the Gore fans at?
who in here loves alot of gore and blood in there horror movies? why and why not?
|
i'll be the first recruit.
|
Numero 2. I love blood and guts :)
Because it makes the movie more realistic. If it doesnt show anything than what the hell is the point? |
Basically, Gore is Art and it's not very different from
paintings and drawings. I like my gore both cheesy and well-crafted |
Disembowelment, decapitation, lose of a limb(s), that rings true horror in the mind of most people. So if you have a film that deals with extreme violence you have to include gore, the more the better I say.
|
stupid question, gore in horror movies is essential, it's like the love story where the hero always gets the girls, it's like a comedy where the star gets brutallly humiliated, do you know what i mean?

No, gore is NOT essential to a horror movie. There are plenty of perfectly good horror movies, a lot of GREAT horror movies, that have little to no gore at all.
But I'm not opposed to it. Just put me down for neutral |

yes, but tool called it a stupid question, then started saying how it was essential.

I LOVE GORE......
I LOVE IT I LOVE IT I LOVE IT I LOVE IT!!! :D |
If a 'horror' movie doesn't have good gore, then it had better make up for it by being especially cool in another department. It doesn't have to have gore, but it sure makes it easier for me to like them.
Speaking of gore, I'm about to watch Starship Troppers 2. I haven't seen it yet, but the first was one of the most pleasently surprising movies I've ever seen! I went in to it thinking 'Starship Troppers? What a stupid fucking name.' It reminded me of Might Morphin Power Rangers or something. But after seeing it, I decided that movie kicked serious ass! If you haven't seen it, go do so right now. I'll let you know how part 2 is after I'm done. Okay, I gotta go, it's starting. |
Question. What are your thoughts on people who cite gore as a reason they DON'T like a particular movie?

Disliking a great movie simply because it lacks 'enough' gore would be dumb. If this has become a frequent trend or a problem any of you has noticed in yourselves, I suggest you mention it to a psychiatrist. You might have issues... |
actually, I didn't mean lack of gore.
|
Oh! They think too much gore is the problem?!?
Those people are stupid. They shouldn't be watching a horror movie and then be getting upset that there is violence and death in it. http://www.ianai.net/jokes/forumpix/JustDumb.gif |

And THERE'S my problem. If gore is a reason someone likes a horror movie, then it's equally reasonable for gore being a reason someone dislikes a movie. Horror movies don't require gore, so someone can like horror movies but dislike gore. |
They can if they want to, but that would be pretty stupid of them. Like saying you are a fan of comedys, but you don't like jokes or being really into romance movies, but hating to see people kiss.
Really good cheesy gore can make an otherwise terrible movie entertaining and watchable. But saying you love a genre that consists of about 80% something you don't like seems kind of dumb. Of course, there are plenty of people out there that are less than smart so it wouldn't surprise me at all if there is people like this. |
No, it's more like liking comedies but disliking slapstick humor or liking romantic movies but hating chick flicks (there is a difference). If you like horror movies but don't like being scared, then that's stupid. But liking horror movies but disliking gore is perfectly reasonable, because there's a large percentage (a lot bigger than 20%) of horror movies that aren't gorey. Psychological horror movies aren't gorey, supernatural horror movies, for the most part, aren't gorey, there are even slasher movies that aren't gorey (Halloween and TCM, although I personally don't count TCM as a slasher, it gets lumped in with them). So it's perfectly reasonable to like horror but not like gore. It's just as reasonable as liking gore.
|
If a movie is romantic, it's a chick flick. I don't know of any romantic guy movies.

Who the fuck would think The Terminator is a romantic movie? What the hell? |
I think Edge was kidding

Classic, but still a chick flick. Chick flick, (but a funny one. John Cusack rocks.) Chick flick. Sorry dude, they're all chick flicks, although arguably some of the better ones. Here's a rule of thumb, 'if it's a romantic comedy, it's a chick flick.' Out of the three, I'd say that Casablanca is the least chick-flicky, simply because in the era it was made, there was no such thing as a 'chick flick'. They made movies for everyone. |

Ryan Dunns girlfriend, Gloren, has cheated on him with a long haired metal head that goes by the name of Hellboy(Yohn). Meanwhile Ryans friends, Ville Valo(Bam Margera), Falcone(Dicamillo), and Raab(Himself) try to break the love that still holds Ryan to Gloren. Excellent movie in my books |
I love gory films. Every once in a while I will post a thread about a movie. I will always ask if its gory. If a movie really sucks, I usually think it can redeem itself with some gratoitous gore.:D
ex. Jason Goes To Hell was for the first 3/4 a rather boring film, but it totally redeemed itself with a blood soaked ending |
I just think blood and gore is cool. Its that simple.
|
yeah. gore is awesome untill your mom gets her head cut off in a motorcycle accident, after that gore is scary.:(
