should THE EVIL DEAD be remade?

I don't think so, mostly for one main reason. Who in the hell could do such a fine job as portraying Ash like Bruce Campbell did? And seeing someone play Ash besides Bruce would be horrific.

avenger00soul 10-28-2003 04:38 AM

Um...how about HELL NO!!!

pulpmovies 10-28-2003 11:17 AM

NO NO NO!
By all that's holy, unholy or indifferent NO!

pulpmovies 10-28-2003 11:19 AM

On the other hand, I did hear somewhere that Sam Raimi wanted to make an Evil Dead 4. In which case...

YES YES YES... :D

meetthecreeper 10-28-2003 11:25 AM

Oh I would love to see a remake of Evil Dead what the? *sounds of flesh being cut off as I remove my evil twin head* HELL NO NO REMAKE OF THIS FILM EVER!!!!!

danteschild 10-30-2003 10:50 AM

who would even think of such a thing? this is one movie that should never ever ever even be attempted to be remade

D'Lo 10-30-2003 04:27 PM

That would be a big mistake. It would be an even bigger mistake if Bruce Campbell wouldn't be in it...

SoUl SuRvIvOrS 10-30-2003 07:21 PM

Is it possible to remake something of such great perfection?

avenger00soul 10-31-2003 11:19 AM

Isn't Evil Dead II kind of a remake of the original anyway? At least a retelling.

dabruce16 10-31-2003 11:33 AM

that is true.

vera-icon 10-31-2003 01:00 PM

but Sam Raimi remade it so that's okay. lol

Sick_As_Fuck 11-04-2003 12:03 PM

Wicked Lady 12-08-2003 07:37 PM

He's actually been in quite a number of new flicks. He's got a few coming out too. He's also got a new book coming out.

rikki 12-12-2003 11:35 AM

I've mostly seen him in cameos lately. I didn't notice him in Spiderman until the second time I watched it though.

rikki 12-12-2003 11:38 AM

I could have sworn I just posted about this somewhere else....

I did! I did!

I don't think there should be a remake or a sequel or vs movie. I think they should rerelease it in the theater, cash in and then release a box set w/all three movies and a cool token of the Ash legend. Maybe they could have a little two-headed Ash figurine or one w/his boomstick - just some thoughts. A cool Ash toy would go well, I think. But you can't perfect perfection. There's nothing more to add or work with. Leave it the fuck alone.

HE IS IN A INDI FILM CALLED "BUBBA HO TEP" RIGHT NOW. HE PLAYS A RETIRED MAN WHO THINKS HE IS ELVIS AND HAS TO FIGHT A MUMMY TYPE MONSTER WITH OZZIE DAVIS IN A NURSING HOME. HE ALSO DID THE VOICE FOR THE PS2 GAME "EVIL DEAD:FIST FULL OF BOOM STICK" WHICH KICKS ALL SORTS OF ASS ESPECIALLY WITH A 19.99 PRICE TAG. HE WAS ALSO IN ONE OF THE DUSK TILL DAWN SEQUALS FOR LIKE 30 SECONDS BUT THE FILM WASNT WORTH SEEING. I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN ABOUT SPIDERMAN I DIDNT NOTICE HIM IN "DARKMAN" TILL LIKE THE 3RD TIME THRU.

ringmovierocker 12-16-2003 08:32 AM

I think it shouldent be remade, it should just stay original not be remade and then remade again and then made in to something like evil dead 6. alot of scary films should just stay original unless a horror movie had a good idea but was totally crap then a film should be remade.:)

an Evil Dead remake? does that sound FINE?......HELL NO!

HappyCamper 12-19-2003 02:57 PM

already pissed

and besides i'm already pissed that there's a remake to 'Dawn of the Dead' coming out...it'll probably suck..but i'll see it anyway.

Antihero 02-02-2004 12:08 PM

OMG

a remake of any of the series would be a mistake its bad enough there remaking dawn of the dead... i mean seriusly thats a horror classic right there romero set alot of new stages for horror movies... and they want to redoo a classic like that... but anyway the day they make a remake of evil dead might be the day i become a mass murderer

Sam The Egg 02-02-2004 04:34 PM

fuck that noise

sleepaway 02-03-2004 12:14 AM

No remake! They just ruined Texas Chainsaw, don't wanna see that happen again. Could not imagine Evil Dead without Bruce. But it certianly would not surprise me if it happened seeing as there's remakes for among others Amityville Horror and The Hills Have Eyes on the way. Yuck. It seems the thing now to do is remakes when in the eighties it was just to do sequels.

HappyCamper 02-05-2004 06:00 AM

hell NO!! any type of remake of the Evil Dead films would lick hairy monkey balls!

HappyCamper 02-05-2004 06:05 AM

anyone ever seen 'Miller's Crossing'? Sam Raimi has a cameo in it!

ckyguy 02-05-2004 02:09 PM

"The evil dead" should not be remade. In fact, The movie should have never been made. I don't like the evil dead because people label it and "underground movie." I was talking to this kid once and he said he was into underground horror movies. I asked him what kind he liked and the first one he said was "the evil dead." Ha, really underground. They sell them at wal mart and target. Really underground huh? The movie is pretty overrated if you think about it. Was it even scary? No, it wasn't. It was more of a dark comedy. Look at Sam Rami (I don't know his last name) now. He is making movies like spider-man. So I don't think they should remake the evil dead. They shouldn't even make a fourth one. Take care!

Oh, and if you look really closely in a couple episodes of Sea Quest, you can spot Ted Raimi!

in the woods... 02-05-2004 03:01 PM

that would be idiotic.

Splatter Phreak 02-06-2004 04:56 AM

NAY,NO,NOT,NEGATIVE,NEVER!!
but an evil dead 4 would be good

evildeaddude 03-06-2004 09:40 AM

they cannot remake the evil dead it would ruin the series and theres nobody that can play ash like bruce cambell so no no reamake that would be gay

joeltrae 03-07-2004 08:58 PM

Should The Evil Dead be remade? Hell yes, while they are at it, why not go ahead and remake Gone With The Wind, Taxi Driver, and Raging Bull? Heck, all "CLASSICS" deserve a remake. Jesus H. Christ, this insanity must end!

Randall_Flagg 03-08-2004 01:19 AM

Oh, this is a painful topic!

Remake the Evil Dead. No, no way, never.

It shouldn't, couldn't, musn't be done.

That film was a benchmark in horror movies. Small budget, small (unknown) cast and imagination and desire by the bucketloads.

See the Texas Chainsaw remake for an example of why it shouldn't ever be done. Ok, the film wasn't that bad but I don't know about you guys but the whole time I was watching it I wanted to be sat in front of my DVD player watching the original.

At the end of the day, remakes are not for the fans, they are for the studios bank balances.

And as I speak, up comes the remake of 'Dawn'...

I shall go to see it. I go to see them all. But it will never change the fact that these ten a penny, chuck money at it till it drowns remakes never outdo the made on a shoestring, blood, sweat and tears originals.

And that's my ten penneth.

Regards.

RFlagg.

cheebacheeba 03-11-2004 08:59 AM

I'd prefer a fourth than a remake (not that I'm exactly counting on #4 to ever happen at this point)....the original was some oldskool good shit, I just don't think a remake could get the "feel" happening...

Evisceration 03-12-2004 04:18 AM

No, it was a bad movie the first time around and I'm sure it will suck even more the second time around.
