Scarface is a definite classic.....but with that being said....i think its highly overrated....the only thing that really excells in scarface is Al Pacino's acting....the ending scene is fantastic and the whole movie is pretty hardcore, but for me it certainly didn't live up to all the hype there is about this movie.....

Personally, i think goodfellas is a far superior movie but thats just me....

Hell i couldnt have said it myself. I love Al Pacino and the movie was good, but i found it lacking. I thought Goodfellas was a more action packed movie and it stayed that way for the rest of the movie

Not only that, but ALL the actors/resses in Goodfellas are superb, from joe pesci, robert deniro, ray liotta, the big pauly guy, the wife and all the other wives, EVERYONE is fucking incredible in that movie....

Unlike scarface where al pacino (and a bit of michelle phifer) really do carry the movie....its good....but not Goodfellas good (which comes out on special edition DVD this next week for anyway, like myself, that has been waiting)

I have it on VHS. But that gets the job done. As long as i can see the picture. And i love Ray Liotta. In fact all the actors and actresses as you said are great. I like the screwdriver scene

Scareface one of the most overated movies ever its real good but not anywhere near the best, Darren Arronofskys Requiem for a dream kiks this movies ass and shows that coke is not cool also old Blink does kik ass and there new stuffis better then enema of the state

I think Scarface is a definate top 100 movie (obviously), but yeah, Goodfellas was better.


BTW, the upcoming DVD has a commentary track by the guy who wrote the book it was based on, which if memory serves was autobiographical (~!!!) so it should be pretty kick ass

goodfellas is so great that movie doesnt get half as muc attention as scarface and its way better

Goodfellas gets TONS of attention. The only time Scarface gets attention is with rappers nowadays

scarface t shirts everywhere, posters, cups tons of mechandise I never see goodfella shirts cups, etc

just because Scarface is more marketable (It has one clearly defined and highly charismatic lead, as opposed to Goodfellas which is always marketed as a movie with De Niro, Pesci, and Liotta), doesn't mean it gets more attention. In the movie community, Goodfellas gets more attention because it's widely regarded as a better movie
