avenger00soul 10-18-2003 12:57 PM

I listen to mostly metal. My favorite bands are Anthrax, Type O Negative, In Flames, Tool, Queens of the Stone Age, Shadows Fall, Life of Agony, Boy Sets Fire, Fu Manchu, and Megadeth to name a few.

Horns up metalheads.

moonsorrow 10-18-2003 01:00 PM

Yeah, it's on The Jester Race isn't it? I get the song titles confused because I mainly know them by track number. In Flames is one of the best bands in the world though. Those guys play guitar like nobody's business.

moonsorrow 10-18-2003 01:09 PM

how can they go wrong? two guitar players making riffs and slides like no other, i had the honor of seing them live last year, great guys, great live band, they had the whole crowd jumping like mad (i accidentaly bounced 3-4 times on someones foot)
not sure witch track it is but december flower is on jester race, it may even have some of the bes guitars iv ever heard on any cd

avenger00soul 10-18-2003 01:11 PM

I'd love to see them live. IMO, each CD they release is better than the last one. Those guys are constantly improving.

moonsorrow 10-18-2003 01:20 PM

imo (i finaly got to use that word...im so proud) it gets worse and worse by each cd, thats why it astounds me that theyr latest cd is still so damn good, they peaked at jester race

Nah, they'll never peak. Glad to see you used IMO, haha.

Preferences
Classic Rock: LedZep, Pink Floyd, The Doors, The Who, KISS, etc.
Metal: AC/DC, Metallica, etc.
Nu-Metal: Rage, Audioslave, System, and most definately and positively nothing that remotely sounds like Limp Bizkit or Linkin Park... just awful... awful, awful, AWFUL! Awful like Offal!
Oh and anything funky, specifically: P-Funk (but that's for when I'm in a good mood)

I have a huge list of others... but my brain is fried from working today, so they're just not there... I know avenger said a lot of them... Like Anthrax and Fu Manchu

Oh well...

*FADE OUT*

Wow, glad to see someone else likes Fu Manchu. I wouldn't classify Audioslave as Nu-metal. They are just way too good for that.

moonsorrow 10-18-2003 01:34 PM

its nice to get a use from what i learn... nice to se there are more of us, im still glad to say that we are the few and the proud.

Krzychu 10-18-2003 02:42 PM

I am metalhead too. My favourite bands are: Morbid Angel, Vader, Behemoth, Dies Irae, Anthrax, Slayer, Judas Priest. I like progresssive rock bands like King Crimson (first of all) and Camel. This is small part of my preference's list. Just like moonsorrow I hate nu - metal.Who think up that stupid name? Hail to metalheads!

Who know bands take advantage of horror movies?? I know King Diamond, many grind metal bands and Rob Zombie.

moonsorrow 10-18-2003 02:47 PM

welcome to the pack Krzychu, glad to see another real metal head, you should check out the band i borrowed my name from, finnish death/power metal, lyrics are finnish to but does it matter? it sounds good. has anyone actualy heard the latest dimmu album? i keep hearing such bad thing about it

Ritualistic 10-18-2003 03:26 PM

I would have to say I am a metalhead/headbanger. I prefer death metal over any other type of metal. Fav bands are: Mortician, Ghoul, Frightmare, Deicide, Cannibal Corpse, Nunslaughter, Skinless, Morbid Angel, Necrophagia, Superjoint Ritual, Mayhem (when Dead was the vocalist .RIP Dead), Emperor, Avulsed, and many many more.. I really like gore metal, and I like Black metal.. But I prefer the old type of black meta.. not this commercialized shit.. Immortal, Dark Funeral, Ancient, etc... I like all their older albums...

moonsorrow 10-18-2003 04:24 PM

in that case the latest old mans child album must have been just up your alley

Ritualistic 10-18-2003 05:02 PM

No not actually... I prefer Old Man`s Child first two albums.. I just like the raw/cold black metal...

moonsorrow 10-19-2003 03:47 AM

each to his/her own taste i guess... i must say i envy galder though, he made 3 albums by himself, takes alot of tallent to master all those intruments.
a bigger genius then mozart perhaps?

Krzychu 10-19-2003 04:39 AM

I heard new dimmu borgir's album. I think it is very good album. In my opinion they worked on this album very hard. Amazing symphonic sound, great guitar and very good Shagrath's vocals. Norwegian's music scene is strong and awesome. Another good album from north.

moonsorrow 10-19-2003 05:24 AM

like i always say, thers a reason this country is shaped like a guitar, im so dam glad im norwegian, we have all the best bands here, dimmu borgir, old mans child, trail of tears, sirenia, tristania...the list just goes on and on.

Ritualistic 10-19-2003 07:07 AM

I have a mayhem shirt with the Mayhem logo on it ... on the back it has "True Norwegian Black Metal" very cool shirt.. I have had it for years.. Just wanted to add this Aura Noir`s "deep tracts of hell" and "Black Thrash Attack" are both great cd`s... I have been listening to them both back to back this morning..

moonsorrow 10-23-2003 01:50 AM

never saw a music forum... but yeah, im into all metal, from gothic to death black and dark ou name, give me a cuple of names

dethbyfire 10-24-2003 08:02 AM

I am also in the ranks of the metal heads. I am sad to not see anything about Six Feet Under. Maybe im in the minority on this one but i think they are awsome. I had the privlige to see them along with many other bands like Lamb of God, God Forbid, and about 7 other bands.

I am glad to see that Cradle of Filth was mentioned along with Killswitch Engage

Rock On!!!

meetthecreeper 10-24-2003 11:14 AM

Zombie, Ministry, KMFDM, Slayer, King Diamond, Mercyful Fate, Venom, Motorhead, Black Sabbath, Ozzy, any british metal, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Godsmack, Megadeth, Doors, Pink Floyd, Rage Against Machine, Metallica(early stuff not that new crap) Misfits, the list could go on forever, I also like some classical and I think that Sting is awesome if you can deal w/the adult contemporary. Chris Cornell has the voice of a angel, Soundgarden was such a great band,Audioslave is good too but not like Soundgarden. I like Eminem just cause he is a pissed off white guy and is entertaining to see him shock people. I sure would like to hear more metal in the states, it seems like the best metal is overseas now.

UP YOUR IRONS!

moonsorrow 10-24-2003 04:44 PM

i just got back from a concert... paradise lost suported by amorphis... its almost 3, im drunk and every single muscle in my body aches, i know that when i wkae up tomorrow il feel like a hammered 2x4 but you know what? thats the lovley feeling thats tells you that you have just seen a good concert...

I thought I had mentioned SFU in my post. but I guess not. Their new album is killer. Bringer of Blood, and Amerika the Brutal are fucking awesome sonngs. I am into Mayhem but I prefer their older stuff. Maniac is a great vocalist in fact all the vocalist of Mayhem have been great. But their new music just doesnt interest me. Sounds completely different.

Krzychu 10-25-2003 12:51 PM

I am also big fan of metal. I am into metal over 13 years. I love death metal, tharsh and heavy too. I look up to all bands which sound honestly. I do not pay attention to bands which cheat fans and very often changed genre...

Shall we speak of horror in metal and metal in horror?

shane diablo 10-25-2003 02:53 PM

shane diablo 10-25-2003 04:16 PM

Dark Tranquility and Lacuna coil yes I have heard a little of Old Mans Child But not much..

Ritualistic 10-25-2003 05:04 PM

I like Lacuna Coil.. But I usually listen to them on a day I want to mellow out and relax... My g/f prefers them though

moonsorrow 10-25-2003 07:09 PM

now lacuna coil...thats metal to my taste, so few bands with female vocals...i recomend checking out after forever though, its melodic black\death metal with two male and one female vocals, shes oprano...opera, gotta love that.

shane diablo 10-25-2003 07:26 PM

La Coil

Yeah I see no comparison to evab esseance, but I have heard that refrence any King diamond Fans?Merciful fate.
I am more of a KIng man myself but I like Merciful as well.
not to big in the black metal It has come along way thou.since the day's of Venom.
I have seen Dimmu Bogir live thou and I would like to see Cradle of Filth.
I am more on the punk side of the dark stuff

moonsorrow 10-27-2003 11:25 AM

evanessence or however the fuck you spell it is tallent wasted, just listen to her voice, its amazing, sucks they stuffed her into an nu metal band.

shane diablo 10-27-2003 11:41 AM

I( agree I like the feel of there song but I am not a fan of the hole Nu metal experience.I think she has a great voice and I do like some of there music I just dont know if I would buy the album.I get the feeling that Musically it all sounds the same.

Krzychu 10-27-2003 01:03 PM

I ask a question. Anyone in this place opine that Deicide will be able to record good and brutal stuff? Glen Benton for many years announced brutal and awesome album but in my opinion each album since "Unce upon..." is disappointment... Deicide backwards??

shane diablo 10-27-2003 01:33 PM

I didn't care for anything after the third one I cant remeber the title.hey and didn't he declare to the world he was going to commit suicide at 33 because that was the age of christ? or was that all bull.cause I think he needs to get on it dude looks like he is 45.
