I just heard about these today... Wayne Rodgers just barely missed the new year. Freaking sucks... I have fond memories watching MASH as my parents bought them on DVD. My sister and I were obsessed with the first few seasons and watched them over and over again... 8(

Repo'd 01-03-2016 03:22 AM

Wayne Rodgers passing brought my belated mother to mind. She couldn't stand to even look at him, and used to say "he's got a face like a smacked ass!" LOL! My mom was hilarious.

No disrespect meant to Wayne, just sharing a fond memory.

RIP, Sir.

Angus Scrimm aka The Tall Man has died.

RIP

:(

Jigsaw Killer 01-09-2016 11:54 PM

R.I.P. to a true legend and icon of Horror :( Still devastated over this news.

Angra 01-10-2016 04:08 AM

I've never understood the cult status of Angus, other than he's been in a cult movie franchise. He's not really scary looking, he's just a tall older man.

Rest in peace, tall man.

Anthropophagus 01-10-2016 04:25 AM

Very sad morning.RIP Tall man.Send those spheres flying.

cheebacheeba 01-10-2016 04:54 AM

Gaddammit...Does this mean the supposedly in development 5th one won't be coming out?

Straker 01-10-2016 05:57 AM

RIP Angus Scrimm.... Horror legend that will be missed.

Repo'd 01-10-2016 01:31 PM

As classy as they come. RIP, Angus, from a Phan.

Jesus H Christ...this is huge...
With respect to the others, I don't think a bigger death has happened in our R.I.P threads here at HDC.

R.I.P to a truly visionary weirdo motherfucking music BOSS.

Wow....

I can't bring myself to watch it yet.

My first introduction to David Bowie, was watching "Ashes to Ashes" on MTV. I was confused and captivated.

But it wasn't until my first real stay in Los Angeles, around 1997, that someone told me to take a moment to listen to something other than Ziggy Stardust, Aladdin Sane and Hunky Dory. So I went for a dizzying car ride through the Hollywood Hills and listened to "Diamond Dogs."
All of my nostalgia, instantly turned to awe. I was hearing him sing about fiction as a mask to show his naked soul. This changed my life forever.
Every song of his was a way for me to communicate to others. It was a sedative. An arousal. A love letter I could never have written.
It has become and remains a soundtrack to a movie he painted with his voice and guitar.

He sang, "Hope, it's a cheap thing."
I don't need hope to know that he has found his way to the place that equals his untouchable, chameleon-genius beauty. The black star in space, that only HE belongs.

This crushing moment of fear and loss can only be treated the way his music has affected everyone who was fortunate enough to hear and love it.
Let's NEVER let go of what he gave us.

Marilyn Manson
That was beautiful

Same

its so strange that within a week both Bowie and Lemmy passed just days after their birthdays.

Roiffalo 01-11-2016 02:58 PM

Jesus, 2016 is starting out like a kick to the nads and then some.... You don't expect someone healthy enough to come out with a new album to just be gone like that... damn that's as heavy on the heart as when we lost MJ. ::sad::

Interesting. Lots of cult iconography, worship of eldritch star-beings in this and the other new video. Like he wanted to create some crazy batshit he wouldn't be around to explain.

Morningriser 01-12-2016 11:37 AM

David Margulies, the guy who played Mayor Lenny in Ghostbusters 1 and 2 has died.

Rawhead Rex 01-12-2016 12:12 PM

Rest in Peace, Angus...you dealt out the scares in Phantasm...really, really well.
And Rest in Peace, Lemmy...for just being fuckin awesome.
And yeah, you too, David Bowie...

Angra 01-12-2016 03:45 PM

I know I've been a cynical shit about most of the famous people passed away these last years, but this one is one that hurts most.

Rest in peace Goblin King.

hammerfan 01-14-2016 03:50 AM

Alan Rickman. Yes, THAT Alan Rickman. Another devastation. In the top 5 of my favorite actors. Age 69, from cancer.

Jake.Ashworth 01-14-2016 04:04 AM

Christ Bowie and Alan Rickman in one week. My heart cant take much more...

horcrux2007 01-14-2016 04:07 AM

Notice they were the same age, and died from the same disease

Jake.Ashworth 01-14-2016 04:23 AM

That is kind of creepy... Not sure what to think about that. Seems like they both went mostly peacefully though. So hopefully they are having drinks in the stars now.

Deaths come in threes. I fear a third individual, somewhere, will die tomorrow.

Repo'd 01-14-2016 01:22 PM

Rickman was such a great talent. RIP, man. Thanks for your good work.

Time for some Potter. 🙁
