Krampus
I just saw Krampus and I enjoyed it. I loved the casting and the Psycho easter egg. I'm just not sold on the ending. What did people think?
|
I loved it the ending was awesome too think of it like groundhogs day but with the best and worst Christmas day you could ever have.
|
Saw it today and really dug it. Excellent blend of comedy and horror. Great cast too!
|
I'm starting to think this one won't be coming to my local theater. They'll marathon all the previous fucking Star Wars but no sign of Krampus in their up coming schedule. ::mad::

Didn't love
An original idea, but far from a 'great horror film' or even suitable Krampus film.
I actually wrote about what I thought about the film. Besides its poor ending and inconsistent storyline (i.e. switching between German and English - for no reason) and beautiful animation, to suddenly, back to played out dark comedy (that's not too funny) with rather unsympathetic characters who you don't care if they die or not. Here's what I thought about it holding true to the Krampus myth: http://www.antagonists.ca/2015/12/kr...movie-vs-lore/ |
I liked Krampus a lot. Hail I might even see it again.
|
Yeah, me too. It's fun enough for multiple viewings. Plus Toni Collette is an actress who does so much great subtle stuff that it will be worth re-watching just to digest her performance more thoroughly.

I enjoyed this movie a lot, although it's a blend of horror and comedy that seems like it should be geared for a younger audience I had a great time watching this. There were definitely a couple of parts I laughed out loud in the theatre.
I think this will be one of the regular movies to watch around Xmas time with my family once it's out on DVD. |
Since the announcement of this film, I was hyped to see it. Once I found out it was pg-13, I declined. It's probably a good film, but I was let down by the rating

I think it was alright, but kinda overhyped. A lot of the craziness wasn't until the end of the movie.

I really liked the movie a lot. Loved the cast - I thought that Adam Scott was fantastic in his usual put upon sarcasm. I also absolutely LOVED the creature design. Really horrifying, creepy, and grotesque at the same time - Also loved the fact that there were so many different creatures too. And what I absolutely LOVED about the movie is that it went all out. It committed to showing you the Hellish world of Krampus, unleashed these beasts upon you and I actually thought the end was pretty ballsy - They committed to the creature horror and I think they really nailed it.
My only complaints were:
|
I was insanely entertained by Krampus and I thought in a lot of ways it did keep true to the legend. The creatures were the best part I mean they were adorable and horrorrific at the same time :)

one of my favorite movies of the last few years.
i was really excited to see that "krampus" because i loved "trick r' treat" and krampus is awesome so there were high expectations when the guy who made "trick r' treat" decided to give krampus a shot and i wasn't disappointed.
the movie was exactly what i expected in a good way and i loved it. i have a soft spot for christmas horror movies, i don't know what it is about them but i really enjoy them and i think that is my new favorite. it was dark and grim but it used color really well and i liked the balance of comedy and creepy bits and i think adam scott and toni collette were a good choice of actors, they both have a sort of dry snarky wit that worked really well and the rest of the cast was great as well no one was obnoxious enough to make the movie off putting but you could see how they might be annoying to have to deal with especially since they kind of reminded me of my own relatives who i love but i am not going to lie they can be annoying. anyway i thought it was fun and i intend to watch it around christmas from now on. ::devil:: |
Loved the movie. Was kinda disappointed that it didn't have a post-credits scene of Sam 'N Kram having dinner with a real mean-looking Turkey.

More of a childrens film to me. I'd like it to be more dark, depressing and gory.
Glad I saw it though. |
I thought the ending was the best thing about this movie, leaving it on a high note.
The movie seemed always on the verge of dodgy puppetry - it walked a fine line between believable action and an actor violently shaking a puppet. I think that line was a bit too thin in places. Was it a black comedy or a straight up horror? It wasn't funny enough for the former or horrifying enough for the latter. Ultimately it didn't commit to either and therefore it lacked identity and substance. A shame. |
