I Need a good scare!
 

The scariest movie I saw was Thir13en ghost and I been watching alot of scary movies old and new, yet i've seen nothing that really scared me... Can I get some recommendations? Something that'll be really scary and make me think about it for years to come.

I`m sorry but if you think 13 Ghosts was scary then i see no point in continuing.You are not ready.

I think It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown might be right up your alley.

yeah the only decent part of that movie was Matthew Lillard's death and that is only because he is an annoying little shit!

Asian horror. One Missed Call (2003) Ju-on: Grudge (2002?)

Well, being scared while watching a horror film, and a scary film isn't necessarily the same thing.

You have to set your environment up before you watch. Different for various people... but usually you want late evening, alone, quiet room, quiet house, & be determined to envelope yourself into the story & empathize with the characters.

Various things frighten people... only knowing Thir13en ghosts was scary, I'd recommend The Exorcist, "Amelia" the 3rd segment of the 3 anthology film Trilogy of Terror (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nra7OmV1IzE), & Dead Silence.
You know gore & torture porn isnt usually scary, it's something else.::wink::

Well, I didn't find 13Ghosts scary at all, but different strokes.

I recommend the Exorcist, Susperia, Ju-on, or the original Evil Dead.

If you want something creepy with a similar ( modern ) feel, try the 2002 remake of The Ring.

try watching it and tell me if you don't think it wouldn't be scary going through that and tell me it doesn't make you feel uneasy.

Being grossed out is not the same as being scared. And putting yourself in the characters' situation doesn't work. Take Ouija for example. If my friends were being killed by some demon, I'd be pretty scared, but is the movie itself scary? God no.

I get what you are saying horcrux but I mean in AGP the girls are drugged where they cannot move but can feel everything and given LSD. The first girl is dismembered and the 2nd one has her skin peeled off and then her stomach cut open with a pair of hedge clippers breaking her ribs. Yeah it was gross but the fact that these girls had all this done to them. The idea of imagining how they would feel is pretty horrifying.

Anyway, as far as films with traditional scares, I would say the scariest films I have seen are The Shining and A Nightmare On Elm Street. I saw them both when I was really little ever since then nothing scares me, at least not to that extent.

It might be a scary film; haven't seen it. I don't plan on it because I have a real good idea what it is.

I'm quite sure it would make me feel uneasy, in more than one way. We know there's a horror genre to titillate with a queasy, horrific, forbidden-related, uneasy feeling. It's rather specific, & a bit "physically mechanical" if you know what I mean... Not the "deeper psyche" scary some of us are talking about.

Chill out, guys. You don't know how old or experienced in horror this person is. Hell 13G was one of my first horrors, and it was unsettling to me at that point. I was fairly young at the time, but it gave me good experience and the want to pursue more horror as I got older.

If you want a thrill similar to 13G, I'd look for visually paranormal stuff. Like Poltergeist or The Grudge.

Suspiria would be a good one to try and see how you handle it.

I of course mean the original, though I haven't seen the remake to recommend that or not. From what reviews I've seen for it alone I wouldn't.
