Can a separate forum entitled "Promote Your Horror" be created and thus we can have all the spam in one place?

Can only be done by an admin, not a moderator

does anyone know how to contact the admin? If he isn't going to be here we need someone else to be an admin to keep control of things.

My recommendation: They promoting a book? We throw it in the Books section. They promoting a short film? We throw it in the Horror Filmmaker or Indie Horror and Short Films section. An event? We throw it in the Events section. We have too many separate forums already.

He doesn't contact or speak to anyone, only acts in the worst case scenario sort of situation(s)...i.e. if the site goes down by the hackers or somehow. Then he fix that & leave. But still lurks around here, I guess...::devil::

I don't see why someone would put all the time, money and effort into something like this and not even enjoy it. It makes no sense.

I found a bunch of info about the registration of www.horror.com. No name unfortunately but I found a email address and I found out that the domain is registered until July 18th 2016... That's not very promising, means we may be out a forum in less than a year...

So I shot out an email in hopes of figuring out who owns this place.

You'll let us know if you hear back, right?

I noticed something a couple of days ago. This place used to have ads everywhere. For some odd reason now there's none. I wonder why that is. ::roll eyes::

Web domains are often only leased for a year at a time, and often the owner has registration set to auto-renew. Also, the email address registered is probably the one he used like 12 years ago when first registering the domain, so might not be one he checks anymore. Same with the mailing address.

It doesn't hurt to try though. That would be a bummer if this forum did shut down.


I agree with Chrono though on the forum creation... There are already a lot of forums, and it seems like there are already appropriate places for self-promotion. I only check like two of the forums on a regular basis. I can't imagine that creating new ones will increase participation.

He would have to shut the forum down and although Horror (his username here) doesn't seems to be hands on with the forum I doubt he'd just let horror.com. The domain name is worth over $1,000.

Just an update, of course I got nothing back from that email... BUT! I emailed the people who built the site for them (Juuce) and got a response. He said that he built the site for a bunch of Americans, who then moved to Japan and he lost contact with them. He said he has a few emails and phone numbers laying around and will attempt to make contact with them for us. So at least there is that.
