creeeeeeeeeepiest voice in horror overall

Vincent price or Donald pleasance, who wins and why

Repo'd 10-01-2015 02:30 AM

Price, and I don't find Donald Pleasance voice to be creepy at all. In fact, I find Vincent Price's voice rather pleasing to the ear when he isn't aiming to be creepy. Neither voice is all that creepy to me overall.

hammerfan 10-01-2015 02:41 AM

I agree with Repo'd

Jake.Ashworth 10-01-2015 04:26 AM

Its unfair to narrow it to two. Doug Bradley.

Repo'd 10-01-2015 07:11 AM

Oh, if we had options…Bradley is a good one.

Angus Scrimm as the Tall Man has a really distinctive and unsettling voice. He enunciates perfectly and says everything with a kind of ultra confident, malevolent snarl/hiss. That's creepy!!

hammerfan 10-01-2015 07:26 AM

Of course, my vote would be for Christopher Lee!

Very true, that's a great one. I met him at Texas Frightmare Weekend last year.

Angra 10-01-2015 10:11 AM

The babadook voice was pretty scary.

SerialKiller 10-01-2015 02:49 PM

Vincent Price to answer your question.

The Candyman's voice was always hella creepy to me. Also agree with the person who said the babadook.

Regular voice horror actor: Peter Lorre

Regular voice in horror film: Crispen Glover in Willard,

Enhanced voice horror film: Linda Blair in Exorcist

MichaelMyers 10-03-2015 09:18 AM

Freddy Kruger.

good one. england speaks with subtle sound effects, the pitch is slowed.

neilold 10-03-2015 02:01 PM

Don't get me on another anti Freddy rant! I was going to include Lorrie but decided not to, as I feel his voice is more sinister and psychotic, than creepy

I think of creepy as being very general & inclusive of many different types of creepy, from sinister to awkward -- but that's obviously subjective.

neilold 10-05-2015 12:56 AM

as creepy as Vincent Price's voice is, its also quite camp

OLO 10-06-2015 06:29 AM

one of the creepiest voices I have heard in a movie is the kids voice in The Changeling... from the recordings, to it echoing in throughout. Mad creepy.

horcrux2007 10-06-2015 06:32 AM

The kids from The Innocents really sent shivers down my spine. I dunno why... they were just creepy as hell.

Can't believe no one said Zelda Rubenstein.

Vincent between the two, Doug Bradley and the Babadook are great choices too, but what really made me about piss myself was the voice out of fucking nowhere in Amityville Horror.

Jeezus H Crist. In Poltergeist her voice was sweet and as harmless as as little old lady can get. But put it to a documentary and just no. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yxJkMlqYrys

She also did the narration for a show called "Scariest Places on Earth" some years ago. Linda Blair was the host. It was a reality show that placed a family in a "haunted" location, and had them do some ghost hunting. My family and I auditioned to be on it in August of 2001. Then 9/11 happened, and the show went off the air.

Damn that sucks. Sounds like it was a good show, one of the kind I like to watch to draw to.

Morningriser 10-10-2015 05:35 AM

Zelda Rubinstein
Doug Bradley
Tobin Bell
Robert Englund

tfantasy 10-10-2015 07:50 AM

What about Pinhead??

The only true voices that ever really creep me out are the demonic ones; like from the Exorcist.

Morningriser 10-11-2015 03:51 PM

yeah Doug Bradley played Pinhead. His voice is so demonic the band Cradle Of Filth get him to speak on their albums sometimes

tfantasy 10-15-2015 05:50 AM

See, I was thinking that Doug Bradley played Pinhead, I'm a dork for not getting that. SHAME ON ME ::shocked::::embarrassment::

And I call myself a horror fanatic!! Some day, I will actually buy the Hellraiser movies.
