Odd things?

Hey everyone, just curious, can you all tell me what you are most afraid of? I love to hear about peoples fears. I want to know the things that scare you the most, as well as the oddest things that you are scared of. It doesn't have to be things from movies, just stuff that actually terrifies you.

horcrux2007 05-29-2015 01:55 PM

probably roaches... there is literally no need for them. I'm fine with most other bugs though like bees, spiders, ants...

Jake.Ashworth 05-29-2015 01:57 PM

Roaches are a good one. I love irrational fear. Im terrified of water I cant see the bottom of, lake, and rivers. The thought that there could be something down there that I cant see just ruins it for me.

Becoming a bum.

The Bloofer Lady 05-29-2015 02:01 PM

I've mentioned it a few times on the forum, I am terrified of frogs. Its a paralyzing fear..its horrible. Also some of my worst nightmares feature not being able to get help on the telephone. Either I can't dial 911 or someone is talking on another line etc. It must be something I'm also afraid of because I keep dreaming about it over and over.

TheBossInTheWall 05-29-2015 03:50 PM

looking down from high places.
after my body dying I'd cease to exist.

Also very not fond of bees, broken glass, and razor blades.

Martha 05-30-2015 09:03 AM

Dead Bad Things 05-31-2015 01:05 PM

Swimmin' over deep water(even fresh water, and I love goin' swimmin')
On the real side tho...my woodstove is pretty scary when it arcs electricity durin' thunderstorms::EEK!::

I have the very same phobia.I go cold if i see one in the garden and have to get someone to get rid of them.I even went to a neighbour last year and asked for a young lad,he was ten,to come and remove a frog from my shed while i stayed indoors behind the curtains. They all laughed of course but thats me,scared to death of them.

Lol, people understand snakes, spiders etc but FROGS? There was one in the driveway the other night when we pulled up home and even though my husband scared it away, I sat in the car for about 10 minutes. I was that afraid to put my foot down on the driveway!

They are icky... either slimy wet with frogs, or warts with toads, but have a baby cuteness, doughy body, smooth and big eyes. I was never afraid of them instinctively. And then because I know they're defenseless, no teeth, claws, fangs, nothing. They're slow and calm.

Although, it is interesting... if you remember from the Ten Commandments/Bible, one of the plagues was the pestilence of frogs. Just based on that, I wouldn't be surprised if there was some collective unconscious fear of frogs.

Anthropophagus 06-01-2015 08:30 AM

I dont even know how my phobia of frogs came about. As a young lad i went frog spawn collecting and visited many ponds, playing and doing what kids do,messing around. Then as i got older the phobia kicked in,i havent the foggiest when or where it started.

I dont like heights neither, but that is not a bad one i suppose, that has real fear factor. If i fall i die.

Jake.Ashworth 06-02-2015 05:39 AM

I love this discussion. Frogs are an interesting one, but doesn't it make you feel a little better to know that someone else has the same fear? Ive started this thread on a couple of boards and I find it really interesting watching people bond over fears, especially the more odd and less rational ones. Not to mention its all great food for writing.

Anthropophagus 06-02-2015 05:52 AM

Yes,it is good to know i`m not alone. Not many things scare me to be honest but to find something as small and innocent as a frog brings me in a cold sweat.

My eldest daughter doesnt like clowns.

While my youngest doesnt like cleaning her room, doing her homework, going to bed, going to school, being quiet, eating her meals.::wink::

That seems to be a lot more common a fear, my kids have a crippling fear of doing anything I ask them to do...

Have you heard about the random scary clown stuff that's been happening all over the country?

Transphobia is pretty scary

Before we all go social justice warrior. Cait has been odd since she was Bruce.

ETA: And why didn't she just continue going by Bruce? Or Bruschetta?

Yeah bruce was always weird...

My theory is that he was gonna go with kaitlyn since all the other kardashians' names start with a K, but then he was like lol nothx and went with C to troll

Jake.Ashworth 06-04-2015 08:34 AM

I would have no problem with this if there wasn't a TV series getting ready to air covering his transformation. It makes the whole thing seem like another Kardashian attempt to stay in the lime light. I don't think I am phobic of transgender people, I don't understand their indecisiveness. I understand homosexuality and accept it absolutely, you've made a life style change, got it. But the majority of transgender people get as far as Bruce did, then leave the penis and continue to be straight. So Bruce is essentially a lesbian woman instead of a straight man. I don't know, it may just be ignorance but it seems very indecisive.

Jake.Ashworth 06-04-2015 08:35 AM

To that respect he wouldn't even really be a lesbian woman, because he will still be having straight sex... Its just very confusing.

She said she's asexual.

The Bloofer Lady 06-04-2015 08:51 AM

If I'm being honest, I just wish he had done the cover with more clothes on. Its like my eyes just instantly dropped to the crotch area. The lingerie(?) is very white and his legs are very white and...well..not very flattering I suppose.

I think the Jenners and Kardashians just try to wear the least amount of clothes possible when they're on the covers of magazines ::stick out tongue::

Well, that's exactly it! There's nothing dignified about this or discreet. When Chas Bono did it and announced it, it was handled publicly and handled authentically. This is another Kardashian 3 ring circus trick.

Then he changed his story from when he did his interview with Dian Sawyer a month ago.

Despite his transition, Jenner said he is still attracted to women.

"No, I'm not gay. I am as far as I know, heterosexual," he said. "I've never been with a guy, I've always been married, raising kids."

So, Sawyer asked, is she a lesbian?

"You're going back to the sex thing, and it's apples and oranges," said Jenner, who has been married three times. "Sexuality is who you are personally attracted to. But gender identity is who you are as a person and your soul and who you identify as inside."

Well I have no clue then. I'm not trans so I don't know how that mentality all works out. Whatever makes her happy, idc.

I can agree with that, I am all for his right to be whatever he wants, its just hard to understand what he wants because it doesn't seem like he understands what he wants. Regardless the only reason I am upset about all of this is because he is getting an ESPY over other people he deserve it FAR more than he does. Its unfortunate how much our society panders to the trending mainstream instead of whats right.

So this has gone way off topic...

I suggest never watching reality tv, commercials, or television news. You'll be much happier. It works for me.(Followed by the 'now you know' infomercial logo)

Jake.Ashworth 06-05-2015 11:02 AM

Luckily I already avoid most of those things.

I think the the thing that I am afraid of most is the unknown. Bu that is something every one can be scared of.
