Anyone hear about this yet? They are making a Ring sequel based 13 years after the original.

I've heard of it. I'm pretty sure it ends right before Ring 2 begins.

I'm expecting more than one Ring.

I read somewhere that it was a prequel set before the first movie. I thought there was going to be a Ring 3D too. Who knows how these things come together.

Yeah there was a rumor of a prequel but the director went on his twitter last week and said that it was BS and that it would be a sequel based 13 years after the original. I think its a cool idea, can you imagine someone finding this old VHS tape and having to either hunt out a VCR or have it digitally converted. And the havoc that could be caused if it got uploaded to YouTube?

I hope they do, it really was a good movie. Im just worried about what kind of story they can build for it. I mean the first movie was mostly about figuring out where this video came from and following the clues. They cant do that again, it would fail.

I just read that news from the director. I guess so called news sites post just about anything these days.

I still have a VHS. I wonder how much they could modernize The Ring without making it too digital. Wasn't there already some kind of Internet horror movie? Or maybe that cellphone one that was really bad. I think that was a Japanese remake too.

It is a good Japanese horror remake. Probably the best or at least top three.

It could be very interesting if it is done right.

That's it. I barely recall the movie except that it was bad. I believe the original Japanese one is completely different. I haven't seen it yet.

I find it strange that they are using Rings as the name for the next sequel if they already used it for a prequel short. But I guess im not Hollywood.

I thought that was strange too. It confused me because I remember it just being called The Ring 3 and had a pretty cool poster. You think maybe it'll expand on the original short film?

Also just saw that this is set to come out in November, and principal photography started in March.

Still no trailers or posters.
