It Follows

Yum ... looks really good. Anyone see it yet? (I'm planning on tonight.)

Angra 03-14-2015 10:45 AM

Good for you, girl. Good for you.

I can see how this would need a thread..::roll eyes::

Ferox13 03-14-2015 10:28 PM

Great film.

BulimicFaerie 03-14-2015 11:22 PM

I would like to see it, looks great! Have fun, let us know :)

Giganticface 03-16-2015 11:17 AM

I can't find anywhere that's showing it. I thought for sure it would be showing in San Francisco.

ImmortalSlasher 03-18-2015 03:52 PM

I want to see it. I heard about this one a while ago. It seems to be getting a lot of hype recently.

DeadbeatAtDawn 03-18-2015 04:51 PM

Suppose to be great.. can't wait. : )

RubyRose 03-26-2015 07:10 AM

Seeing It Follows tonight

Has anyone else seen it yet? I've been looking forward to the wide release since November, I hope im not disappointed. It got compared to Cabin in the Woods which I loved.

Damn Heathen 03-26-2015 12:01 PM

You'll never look at pubic restrooms the same after.

horcrux2007 03-26-2015 01:46 PM

I'm gonna try to see it on Saturday! You don't know how excited I am to see it! I'm hoping it's good.

RubyRose 03-26-2015 07:41 PM

All I have to say is amazing, I have no other words- this could VERY well be the best horror film in 2015.
I don't want to spoil it but
1. The score was A+, I saved all of it on spotify
2. The acting was so great, I actually cared about these characters and could feel their despiration
3. THE CINEMATOGRAPHY
4. Fucking creepy and tense and actually spooky without using cheap jump scares

Overall, this movie was wild and I am looking forward to seeing it again

Im not a huge fan of pubic restrooms anyway ------^^^ Lol!::big grin::

rachMiel 03-27-2015 10:35 AM

Saw it.

Didn't do it for me, outside of a few scenes.

I'd be happy to discuss, but it's probably better to wait until more have seen it.

Angra 03-27-2015 10:41 AM

I'm pretty sure about 4 other people in here has seen it, so it seems to be the right time. Go nuts.

rachMiel 03-27-2015 11:05 AM

Okay, you axed for it! Spoilers in white:

I liked the atmosphere and premise (supernatural terminator) and acting and music and surrealistic atmosphere ... for a while. But at some point not too far in it became clear that these were not going to develop or go anywhere new. And it got tedious for me, predictable, uninteresting. Instead of being moved or surprised at the end, I was pissed off, felt I had been promised a journey but was taken on a ride nowhere.

In short, it committed for me one of the biggest no-no's of entertainment: It was boring.

horcrux2007 03-27-2015 12:26 PM

I'm going to see it tomorrow. Would you mind putting a spoiler-free review?

rachMiel 03-27-2015 12:54 PM

I think it's better for you to see it without hearing my take first. We can compare notes tomorrow after you've seen it.

Oh ok

Damn Heathen 03-27-2015 03:07 PM

A poser here is spreading a major misconception about the guy on the roof. There's a valid reason why he's there.

This monster could never compete with modern tech. Hence, the writer gives us a throwback film. Sure, it's overhyped, but worth the ticket, so get off your lazy agoraphobic ass and go see it.

horcrux2007 03-28-2015 03:10 PM

That was scary as hell.

rachMiel 03-28-2015 04:36 PM

:-)

The Bloofer Lady 03-28-2015 05:36 PM

I might have to come out of the 80's for this one!

Made a post about seeing this in upcoming movies!

I ADORED It follows, im seeing it again Friday. One of the best movies I've ever seen, and by far will be the best horror movie of the year.

I agree. I doubt any horror movie will beat it this year!

fortunato 03-30-2015 10:26 PM

Really keen to see this one. I've heard so many mixed reviews--basically everything from brilliant to bullshit. Gonna check it out this week now that it's had a national release.

Gears-of-Warren 03-31-2015 12:01 AM

Horror needed a movie like this to keep its legs after all the reamkes of late. I can see this "following" up with a sequel or two, which will probably re-start the sequel trend of every popular original movie.

DRM is smarter than that. If there is to be a sequel, he won't direct it.

I can name five off the top of my head that'll destroy it.

rachMiel 03-31-2015 09:18 AM

It Follows seems to be one of those polarizing movies. There are those who loved it, those who really disliked it, and not a lot of in-between'ers. (I disliked it.)

I guess that's the risk filmmakers take when they do something different, thwart the conventions. They'll win over some moviegoers, lose others.

Beyond the Black Rainbow was another movie that was innovative and true to itself (i.e. didn't pander to genre expectations), but that I ended up not liking.

Tetsuo the Iron Man otoh was an insanely innovative movie that I loved!

I can see Crimson Peak matching It Follows because that looks amazing, but Goosebumps? That's the best you can think of?

Gears-of-Warren 03-31-2015 06:44 PM

I think Goosebumps is outside your demographic. Lol It will clean up at the box office.

What do you mean "outside my demographic"?

R U talking to me or to El Numbnuts here? U bet that bump below your back that Goosebumps will destroy It Follows, both at the b.o. and at the game of horror.

I'd really like to see a post from you that doesn't make you look like an ass.

Honesty, I thought the score was overdone. Every other scene had a blaring synth sequence, even when there was nothing happening.

RubyRose 04-02-2015 09:29 AM

The soundtrack just got released for pre-order on vinyl 😍

Vig 04-02-2015 09:35 AM

So what exactly is this film about? I recently haven't heard about it until a couple of weeks ago. Looks creepy as shit.
