King or Koontz..? Okay, so I'm new on here, but I've already made some nice and diverse friends. Some favour King over Koontz as a writer, so the simple question is: King or Koontz? Please vote. |

King ( only his earlier short stories). and I bet dean koontz was pen name that king used. |
|
King definitely. His only weakness is he often has trouble bringing closure to his books (which is why many fans like his short stories the best). |

i love em both but gotta go king, as a discriptive writer there arnt many better, he can paint with words that man, even if very occasionally he gets a bit too long winded. |

King all day. Ive read a lot of both. As for Koontz, I really liked the Odd Thomas series. It was a little young but it was fun. I read a lot of old King when I was young but after I stumbled upon The Gunslinger he took his rightful place at the top of my favorite authors list. |

I'm certainly not the reader I was 20 years ago but I'd say Koontz. |

Stephen King is an American horror literature icon. |
|
King by a million miles |

But yea, Koontz has made some great ones. Cold Fire being my favorite. Not really a horror novel, but when action happened in that book it was impossible to close. The best written action I've ever read. |

Well we all hate to disappoint you but you and Jacob are on your own. ::big grin:: |

Not entirely on their own, I really like Koontz too, just prefer King. Now King or Barker would be more difficult for me. |
|
I only like Stephen kings short stories. |
|
He has a new short that just got approved for publish called Drunken Fireworks. No clue what its about, but I would assume drunk people and fireworks... |

That I can agree with, those were solid. No one really captures my attention like King. But Im a huge Clive Barker fan, Movie and book. Its a hard one for me. |

I've been stuck in those jams. Impossible to get out. |

I've not read Koontz yet--he's probably the biggest gap in my genre reading, one I'm frankly a little embarrassed about. But King is my favorite writer by far, so this one was an easy choice for me. |
