LONDON (Reuters) - Women are likely to have more sex on the days when they are most fertile, even if they are not trying to get pregnant, scientists say.


That means that taking a chance and having sex without using contraception could be more likely to result in unwanted pregnancies than previously thought.


"There apparently are biological factors promoting intercourse during a woman's six fertile days, whether she wants a baby or not," said Professor Allen Wilcox, of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences in Durham, North Carolina.


But he and his colleagues do not understand the reasons and doubt that women are even aware of them.


In a study of 68 women who recorded when they had sex over a three-month period, Wilcox and his colleagues discovered that during ovulation, when a woman is most likely to become pregnant, the overall frequency of sex increased by 24 percent.


"There are some biological mechanisms at work here that curiously we know very little about," he said in an interview.


"It suggests that couples who 'take a chance' with unprotected intercourse have the deck stacked against them. Intercourse does not happen randomly," Wilcox, who reported the findings in the journal Human Reproduction on Thursday, added.


He and his colleagues are not sure why sex is more frequent during a woman's most fertile time of the month, but they suspect there are a few factors at work.


Most women have about six fertile days a month -- the five days preceding ovulation and the day of ovulation.


A woman's libido may be heightened when she is ovulating so she has an increased interest in sex, or she may produce more pheromones, chemicals that send messages to other individuals, that increase her sexual attractiveness.


Animal studies have also shown that having sex accelerates ovulation.


"For couples who want a baby these biological mechanisms are a silent partner, helping to optimise the timing of intercourse," Wilcox said.


But he said women who do not want to conceive should be aware that unprotected sex may be riskier than the odds suggest.


"For couples who don't want to conceive the message would be that when you take a chance that chance is even bigger than you might think."

Fuzzy animals (that can include you, if you happen to be one)
movies that incite them to cry
Movies that incite YOU to cry.
Ice Cream
Flowers (learn their favorite, dont just go with roses, unless they like them)
Head scratches
Brushing their hair
Out of the blue acknowledgements of changes in A) hair, b) clothing c) make-up

By no means a complete list, but i think it is a good start. What do you think, ladies?

I would say that in my case that's true...

Unfortunately, there are SO many women who do not want or need love (as they have quite enough of it for THEMSELVES), and they are incapable of giving love to anyone else...They need constant ATTENTION, not love...

As for "respect"...These women believe that it comes from looks, money, possessions, power and an impressive name...They have no clue what real respect is, and they have no respect for anyone else...

Also...They do NOT want to be treated like "people"...They want to be treated much better than mere people...They want to be treated like queens...Goddesses...Yet, they treat everyone like shit

I'm afraid that these types of women are responsible for making many men the assholes that they are...I have seen quite a few decent men, give up and figure "why bother?" because of their encounters with women like these...

Agreed. But Men do this sometimes too. They rely souly on looks, and not whats on the inside, that makes that person themselves.

That is definitely true, Hate Breeder...But, I think that there are a larger number of women who are the way that I described...and the thread was about women...So.....

i get this room....girls want certain things, guys want certain things, and all in all, neither knows what the other fully wants....thats why the working of "Loving the inside and not the outside" comes together....for instance...me and my girlfriend(VisionOfBlood) actually met 1 night when i was tripping madly off of DXM and my friend that was over didn't know how to come me down...so he talked to her...i talked to her....we became great friends and a few months later we fell for each other and havn't left each others side since....not to mention, we were only talking online for a few weeks before we actually did see each other, and by that point we already liked each other, soley on personality....and i'm sure once she see's this post she's gonna add something that i didn't...soo yaa...trying to prove the fact that not neccisarily all guys are assholes and want girls bc of soley their looks....guys(well most guys at least....except the assholes....damn those assholes) want to actually like the girl instead of just the body.:)
