Horror Site and Forum Merging to form new site?
 

Just curious if the moderators or other members here thought about the idea of merging or creating a bigger horror site? I've seen talk here and on the HorrorDVDs forum about a lack of activity and people using Facebook for horror talk. I don't use Facebook so I don't know how that works. If talk is on official movie Facebook sites in the comments. I would like forums more than that from what I've seen. But I know the front page of Horror.com isn't even updated anymore for some reason. Also, with FearNet now closed even though I never went there, it seems like people there would be looking for somewhere to join. The Neogaf gaming forum usually has one topic on horror that gets a lot of posts too. And a yearly October horror thread.

I tend to visit both HorrorDVDs and the Horror.com/forum on the same day. At times posting reviews of movies I've watched or news of something horror related. But both sites, when I go a week without checking, usually don't have that much activity.

What do the members here think?

Maybe it's just a new time. A time where forums are from a bygone age.

I like the idea of a merge and shaking up the forum dynamics a little. Perhaps our site owner, Horror, can chime in here: what do you think?

I like this forum too. The contests are cool. I don't think many here are on the HorrorDVDs forum. Not sure about the Neogaf one. I don't check it a lot. Just around October to see what people are watching.

I think there are a few other sites with forums. Bloody Disgusting might have one. One horror site has a really messy design and I usually don't check it much though. Maybe that's why I never noticed the forum.

Yea, changes wouldn't hurt this site, as long as we get to keep our forum.

I only come here. It's got what i need. But more activity would't hurt.

I remember someone here telling me the reason things slowed down. It had something to do with Facebook I think. I was just surprised when I joined that there wasn't more going on. Even more surprised that the Horror.com main page is just dead. Not in a funny horror movie way either.

The main page is dead because Horror and the other administrators (I forget their names) are done with the site. V and the moderators are the only ones taking care of things. But, their powers are limited to the forum.

So Horror is paying for this site just because of us? Nice guy.

Did they ever say why they are done with the site? I mean horror.com. You can't get a better site name for horror movies. I posted a while back that I saw Stacie on one of those Jason or horror specials. It said horror.com and I knew where to join.

Various theories but my own is that Horror, the admin, was never the same after FreddyFan. You can research the incident, but from then on--going on ten years now--I think he is afraid of it happening again and keeps a deliberate distance.

I don't use facebook either, I like forums as opposed to commenting on a facebook page but having said that...this is the first forum I've ever joined so what the heck do I know?::confused::
