I know it's been around for a while, but I only just decided to pick up and play "The Thing".
Being relatively horror-based, I thought we'd discuss it. So, anyone who's played it wanna jump in with their thoughts?

Always wanted to play it but never got around to downloading it....ah well....

I've been wanting to get this for PS2, just heven't got around to it yet.

Hey kpro, It's worth a look thus far, good atmosphere, interesting interaction with the NPC's, it "feels" pretty convincing too.
c'mon...someone here's got to have played it b4...

I'm playing through it pretty damn slowly, for some unknown reason I only turn it on every few days...
It's still all good tho, I like that not all of the NPC's are cool with ya, I can tell down the line it's gonna get more and more tense.

I agree, it can be difficult, I've run into a few problems, but just figured it was because I'm more of a FPS man? Anyways, yeah, I loved the movie more too, who wouldn't?!?

My friend claims he quit playing it after running into a boss a lil further into the game. I'm still pretty early in the game tho, last time I played, I was in was a room with these "generator" kinda growths that were popping out the head-spider things and some tentacle thins attatched to the walls...hadda waste 'em all. Then at the beggining of the next stage there's like this constant stampede from nearly every direction by those little head-bastards, and some form of the thing I hadn't yet seen (big lumbering dude) busted through a wall and killed me...
Kinda got the shits with it, and turned it off without even trying again, maybe that's why I'm getting through it so slow?

Cheeba I finally found this yesterday at one of our local video game specialty stores, they only wanted $5 for it so I had to scoop it up...I've only gotten to play a few minutes of it though, but what I've played so far is pretty fucking cool...:cool:

That's like only $10 here, which is one CHEAP-ASS game.
I'd say it'd definately be worth that.
It's a hardcore game, man...you're gonna get scared, pissed off, and confused. It's pretty good. I got to a point where I was on a bad day, and ended up saying "fuck it" and uninstalling while still angry, only to regret it later. Ah well, maybe in a year or so, I'll put it on the pc again....

i played it thought it was great but never got around to finishing it.

I bought it when it first came out. thats when my ps2 worked. I love the action, but I hated switching my weapons all the time. It got sooo lame. And I made it to the final boss and it got soooo hard. I said "Fuck it" than I sold it
