the crow

is the crow considered horror or just a form of drama that involves a gothic feel? The fact that there are 3 crow movies based off comics all following the same basic story. Each one might have its own elements of scary to them but is it actually horror?

What does anyone think of the crow series anyway? i for one think it is one of the best movies that i have ever seen.

alixzander 06-01-2004 09:10 PM

i saw the first one and i liked it.

ShankS 06-02-2004 12:15 AM

i love it and love the comic but i didnt like # 3 though

carnage 06-02-2004 06:12 AM

The first one was the only good one...

kpropain 06-02-2004 09:30 AM

I love the first Crow.

Fire it up Fire it up. LOL

cheebacheeba 06-02-2004 03:56 PM

The first one.

2nd one sucked although I thought he looked more the part, but hey, bitch couldn't act for shit, and yeah, it sucked.

The series starting with "stairway to heaven", all I have to say is -WHY?!?

I have to admit that the 3rd one (salvation) exceeded my expectations somewhat, but then again, that may just be because the second one lowered them so much.

Is there still a rumour floating around that a 4th film is going to be made about...a dead rapper? I wonder if he'll bust freestyles while shooting ppl gangsta style? - right...or was it edward furlong?

IMO the comics (the ones I've read) whipped the shit outta ALL the movies.

A film adaptation of Wild Justice would have to be interesting, but If any future films were ever again based on the comics (well, it worked for the first one!) , I'd wanna see waking nightmares - a personal favourite.
Never read the one about the female crow, or the nutcase "sidekick" chick either...

See.. they wasted a tv series on a character that had no reason after the first movie to have a series based around them...yeah,
yeah, I know it was a reworking of sorts, but Id rather see an ongoing series based on ALL the other comics if anything...even if it only ran for a year or two, if they did it right, it'd have to be better than the last tv series...

Freddy Krueger. 06-02-2004 07:01 PM

I've only seen the first one. It was a good movie.

Shade 06-03-2004 11:59 AM

The first one is one of my favorite movies...the second was...all right. JUST all right. I've never seen the third though I doubt I'm missing anything. Maybe the sequals would have been better in Brandon Lee hadn't died in the making of the first T-T I loved that man.

Goths seem to like it ... I think it's prob as much horror as say Underworld so it is action horror!

... It really is rubbish though and the sequels just get worse!!!!!!

Kind of a horror hybrid, but I loved it.

Thepuppetmaster 06-03-2004 10:44 PM

the first movie was great but damnit Brandon lee died during the filming the movie to bad if he was still around the second movie would of been good we all will miss brandon lee but think postive hes with his dad Bruce lee now and it must be hard on his mother and brother he was the only crow we love rest in peace Brandon lee

KRUGERKID13 06-03-2004 10:45 PM

The third was awsome to i actually liked it more then the first

melgill4272@ 06-06-2004 06:49 AM

i would not call it horror - but i loved it - not sure if this was because of the story behind it with the death of Brandon Lee and i was always looking for the computer generated bits or not - still, it's a movie i can watch again and again

Vodstok 06-07-2004 06:29 AM

the first ruled. i flat-out refuse to ever watch the second or third....

The gunfight set to "After the flesh" is one of the greatest movie shoot0-outs ever....

kick ass film

Hate_Breeder 06-20-2004 05:13 PM

Definently one of my favorite movies. I liked the 2nd one cause it had Iggy Pop and i liked it a lot. But the first one kicks so much fucklin ass! Way better than the 2nd one. The 3rd one sucked, and the series sucked too

juda666 06-21-2004 10:59 AM

the first ones the best one........definatley

MrShape 06-25-2004 03:22 PM

Love this film. I read the comic waaaaaaaay back in it's first run at Caliber Comics (who never finished it, the full story was printed almost a decade later). The film was everything I'd hoped for.
I also loved Alex Proyas' Dark City. I'm interested to see his new film I, Robot, but I don't think it'll be as good.

City of Angels and Salvation sucked but the first Crow film was the shit and it spawned one of the two best characters in wrestling history.

IDrinkYourBlood 06-11-2005 03:47 PM

Elvis_Christ 06-11-2005 09:33 PM

Not really. I've just been buying a lot of VHS latley before it all disappears. Still haven't got round to buying a DVD player yet tho.... next purchase on my list because there's some great stuff comming out over here on that format.

AUSTIN316426808 06-11-2005 09:39 PM

you should be able to find a copy on ebay for 2 bucks or less, the shipping and handling to New Zealand might run about $10.

Elvis_Christ 06-11-2005 09:41 PM

Do you have to go thru much shit to join up to eBay? I've been meaning to do it for awhile.

Elvis_Christ 06-11-2005 09:46 PM

Hmmmmm might have to look into it. The postage sounds like a killer tho.... I should be patient and keep sticking to hunting round second hand junk stores.

you're probably right, with the S&H you'd be able to buy about 15 vhs tapes.

Elvis_Christ 06-11-2005 09:52 PM

Yeh especially since $10 u.s is like $15-20 n.z

Its a pretty good idea for rarer titles tho.

superman 08-16-2006 10:42 AM
