Scariest flick?
This is probably lame, especially since this subject has been dragged out...
But here is the old question What was your scariest movie? Mine was probably the Exorsist. That movie scared meh so bad...>.< But I am a baby sometimes. Any one got a flick that made you wet yourself? |
The end of The Sentinel. Man that chilled the hell right out of me. Freaky.
|
Pet Semetary scared my when I was little for some reason.

There is no horror film that freaks me out but there is one that grosses me out and that is Nekromantik... especially the scene where the guy is licking the eyeball...

Scariest
THE EXORCIST. Definitely. Thought THE EXORCIST III: LEGION is a *very* close tie.

EXORCIST
Avenger:
Do *not* let the travesty that was THE EXORCIST II sour you on checkin' out THE EXORCIST III. What a piece of shit. THE EXORCIST III is the *true* sequel to the original EXORCIST. Not only is it based on William Peter Blatty's novel LEGION -- the sequel to his novel THE EXORCIST -- it was also *directed* by the author. One of the few films that I will not watch alone late at night. Positively chilling. I have yet to recommend it to anyone who's not come away from it severely disturbed. If *that* doesn't make you wanna see it . . . . ;) J.N. http://members.tripod.com/~NEWMANATOR/index.html |
I'll definitely give it a chance dmihatmttl. Besides, Brad Dourif is in it and that warrants a viewing.
|

Anyways, I'll definitely have to check out Excorsist 3. From what I've read in this thread it sounds good. However, I'm not too fond of prequels, so the Excorcist prequel doesn't sound too intriguing to me. |
exactley, sick as fuck, it was more of a psycological thing then anything else, it wasnt ment ot be a teen slasher... it got to me, but one thing that amuses me about it is the fact that they claimed it was tape they found in the woods...and when it became a hit they just had to make a sequal...go figure.
|
Too bad the sequel sucks ass though.
|
For some stupid reason The Changeling freaked me out.

I heard something in the paper some time ago that The Exorcist prequel had been rejected by the studio on the grounds that "it wasn't gratuitous enough" and so the makers were trying to inject a little more gore to secure a release. Why???? What exactly is it that is so frightening about watching someone getting hacked and stabbed to death in a rainbow of blood and guts? Am I the only one who thinks true horror lies in that which you don't see - What made TCM so darned unsettling was in the image suggestion of sick brutality, the torture of being kept alive. Not that I should judge too quickly but what the **** is Michael Bay doing involved in the remake? He knows about as much about the genre as Chris Columbus does about French Arthouse.
|
First of all I got to say that all The Blair Witch did to me was make me dizzy from the camera movement. The only good thing those guys did was make everyone think it was a real documentary. After finding out it was fake I went to see it and thought it sucked. Two movies that scared shit out of me are the aforementioned Exorcist and Alien. Both of them still get me going just by remembering the first time I saw certain scenes.
|
wether you like it or not though, you have to admit the actors of blair witch were exelent, to me they made the whole feel of the film, seing them break apart like that....god the horror!!!
|
I would like to add some films. First of all mentioned Nekromantik. In my opinion it is one of the sickest film which I have ever watched! Director shown ugly, pervered and abomination humane nature. This is film for extremly fan of horror genre. I have watched once and I will never watch again. On the other hand I think it is very good film but scary as fuck...
Second film is Craven's debiut "Last hause on the left". As previous film this masterpiece scary as well. Also this film shows dark recess of human mind. But brutality of human nature has shown little different. Actors have played the pure beast. One of my favourite scene when doc started chainsaw... |

Killer Clown good mention on the birthday scene from 'Signs', I am good friends with a guy who is registered on this forum but is yet to post, his name is D.A, him and I went to see the movie and that was the only thing in the whole film that sent shivers down our spines. Too bad about the end of the film, they really should've ended it when they saw the aliens reflection in the TV instead of turning it into an action film.
Sadly no slasher movie has yet to scare me, most of them make me laugh infact. Especially The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, great film no doubt for its time, but side-splittingly hilarious none the less. Also the aforementioned Pet Cemetary, now that was a creepy film, I still hate the scenes with the cat and the little boy...*Shudders* |
so far no ones mention "in the mouth of madness" (thanks again avenger)
il never forget that scene when they were driving along the highway and you couldnt se dick, it looked like the highway was the only thing in the world... and then this old guy drives past them and gives em a glance and you can see his all to fucked up bizzare face... if there was a top ten list id put it somewhere in it. |
