Curse of Chucky

According to my sources, this not going to be a sequel to 4 and 5, but continuing after 3. I really wish they did that from the start. I'm much more of a fan of Chucky being a rogue serial killer than a "family man". This is set to be released in October of 2013. Also, I heard it's going straight to dvd and blu-ray.

Fearonsarms 12-22-2012 04:07 AM

I agree part 3 is actually my fave of the series. Doubt I would watch parts 4 and 5 ever agin I thought they were dreadful so this should be good fingers crossed :)

horrorfreakchick 12-29-2012 05:05 AM

I hope it'll be good! I love the first and second one. I'm a huge chucky fan!:)

Anthropophagus 12-30-2012 06:47 AM

The first was ok,but thats it.ALL the others are shit beyond belief.

The Horror fan 12-30-2012 06:51 AM

I thought part 4 was really good, I had blast watching that, Found it really fun seeing hints to other horror movies

I loved first and 3rd, I also like the fifth movie as well, It's pecfect family movie :p

Looking forward to this,

What happened to remake?

arnoldc64 12-31-2012 10:42 AM

The remake is still gonna happen, they just haven't started on it yet.

metternich1815 01-11-2013 11:13 PM

They have been doing that recently (picking when they want to relase the sequels). For instance, choosing to set the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre after the original. Personally, I thought the first two Child's Play movies were really good and they definitely had a dark tone. The latter two were to me were nearly as great with Bride of Chucky being my second favorite Child's Play film (I thought the humor was quite funny), but they were very different than the first three. I absolutely hated the third film, I thought it was the worst film in the series.

Nini_luv5 06-25-2013 10:19 PM

I adore the fact that Dourif's daughter is in the film.

I have high hopes and look forward to this film, but I do have to say that I will most definitely be upset if they decide to give Chucky a dreadful "makeover" like the tragedy that they did with Freddy in the latest crap... I mean remake.

Well, there is a picture, it's just of the cd sountrack cover, but I imagine that will be the poster as well, or the dvd cover. I think it looks pretty chilling, honestly and I look foreward to this more than alot of things coming out in the next few months.

I really like how they've updated chucky's look. No more of that self parodying style and with a modern flair too.

I love it.

sleepaway 06-28-2013 02:56 AM

This has to be the only film I can think of I'm looking forward to!

Nates Vault 06-28-2013 07:37 PM

I Am torn on this. While the first two were solid horror films, the latter entries were great comedy. I'm not sure that at this point they can pull back from the humor aspect of the series.

TokyoTenshi 06-29-2013 07:11 PM

Oh wow, now I'm excited and looking forward to it. I thought Seed of Chucky was an insult to Child's Play franchise, so i hope this will turn out great as it's going back to horror and not comedy spoof.

SuperFreddy 07-03-2013 05:03 AM

There's no chance they'll make this more a comedy. Most successful ramkes of old horror movies have dark tone and are rather scary than funny. I hope this one will share that approach and Chucky will be a real psychopath.

Nini_luv5 07-09-2013 10:42 PM

Its gonna go straight to BluRay.
Confirmed.

Kandarian Demon 07-09-2013 11:24 PM

When I watched the trailer, I have to admit that I thought the redesigned Chucky looked pretty scary when he did his "evil face" (and as much as I love the classic Chucky movie, they never scared me).

Rela1024 07-10-2013 06:27 AM

I might give it a watch but I could never take this series seriously no matter how dark they make it...

Believe it or not, but there are lots of people who are creeped out by or even terrified of dolls. I'm that way with certain types of dolls too, although the "original" Chucky never scared me. The movie "Dead Silence", on the other hand...

Honestly, I thought the new doll looked completely stupid.

When I was little I was creeped out by my dolls sitting in corners at night to the point I had to turn them face down or put them under the chair...but some reason creepy doll movies never had that affect on me

:D Well, there's not really any right or wrong opinion when it comes to what scares you and what doesn't.

Giganticface 08-02-2013 11:22 AM

I have to admit, I kinda want to see this. I liked the original Child's Play when it came out and saw it a few times, but have considered the franchise kinda lame since then. Not sure I want to pay $10 to see it though.

Both......

SpiderCupcake 08-05-2013 01:27 AM

I would very much love to see this movie. I think it's a nice change for the movie makers to yank Chucky back to his roots. Don't get me wrong I love all of the movies, even Bride of Chucky (my second favorite Chucky movie) and Seed of Chucky, but I like that they're going back to a bit more of a Child's Play feel. And I'd like to see how they do on this remake. The trailer looked really good. Kinda scary which is good :3

Evermoredarkly_ 08-05-2013 12:53 PM

I'm kinda stoked about the remake, only because i'm semi curious on what they will do with it.

MistaSugarBear 08-28-2013 10:17 PM

Dude! I've been stoked about this from the start of hearing about it! I've seen the trailer and looks pretty good! I sure hope it doesn't blow like most remakes...lookin forward to it!
