Let's Scare Jessica to Death

Anyone ever see the horror gem 'Lets Scare Jessica to Death" from 1971? It gained popularity on late night TV and has since been a cult classic. Its very subtly creepy, using music and mood rather that imagery and gore. Its an excellent film! I've actually been to all the filming locations and would love to show you this link for anyone who loves the film: http://youtu.be/8z_1GQIzv04

It was filmed in Connecticut!:D

That's really cool that you went to see the house.

Awesome little movie.
Very cool video, too. Thanks for sharing.

Turn that shame into a Netflix DVD rental!

First saw it at a drive-in in the 70s. Really nice, creepy film.

Yeah...one of my very favorites too. Loved it.

But don't sure about Chrono:rolleyes: [:D]

Wow neverending I'm jealous! I would love to have seen it in theaters but sadly I was born 21 years after it was in them haha

You know, I think that's where I first saw it, too.

I like the movie, it has some REALLY creepy camera shots. My only complaint is that the title doesn't really match up with the film in my opinion... I understood they were implying that her friends might be conspiring to make her relapse into kookoo land, but it worked better as more of an unexplained entity movie than a paranoia film. Good chase scene music too :P

Good movie....and like the other old bastards...I too saw it at the drive-ins.

jessicafan46 09-21-2012 09:25 PM

I really hope it finds its way into the theaters again somehow!

fortunato 09-22-2012 11:16 PM

I actually got to see this on the big screen about six or seven years ago as part of a horror movie marathon at a local revival theatre. It was pretty great.

Oh yeah! Yeah, I liked this one! Very 70's, and that's a good thing.

Had to dig this thread up. One of my all time favorite movies. The scene by the lake is fucking iconic IMHO. So creepy and beautifully shot.

Anyone else love this one?

Damn Heathen 09-24-2014 07:55 PM

I have this somewhere. I suppose I should watch it before I die.

newb 09-25-2014 05:29 AM

I'm pretty sure it was a double feature with "The Reincarnation of Peter Proud".

another gem from the 70s

I did! And Leonard Whiting (of Romeo and Juliet fame) played Dr. Frankenstein.

Have any of you seen Die Die My Darling?

hammerfan 09-25-2014 07:49 AM

I don't think so, doesn't sound familiar

I never realized this was a supernatural film. By the title, I always thought it was one of those "evil children" movies. I decided to order it and I look forward to watching it.

Hope you enjoy it. It can be slow moving at points but it's interesting and genuinely creepy for the most part IMO. I need to rewatch soon.

Remember seeing the ads when I was 9, but no way my Mom would have taken me to see it. Finally caught it on an AWFUL VHS EP mode and really didn't think it was all that great. Should give it another look...DVD presentation may make the difference.
