New here, had to ask this question

Okay brethren, what is the worst horror movie you have ever seen. There are so many cheesy ones out there with low budget gore and no story. I sat through RABID GRANNIES and my mouth hung open the whole time at how dumb this movie was.

Another stinker MICROWAVE MASSACRE, oh we musn't forget MOTEL HELL.

These movies are fun to watch drunk with a bunch of friends.

I agree about MOTEL HELL.

HOUSE I also think is awful, very over-rated.

EXORCIST II.

SCREAM is every bit as bad as it thinks itself good..

With you on Rabid Grannies that one was terrible. I'm pretty fond of Motel Hell it's one of my favourite horror flicks so can't back you on that one :D

I love Motel Hell too. Rory Calhoon in a pig maskand toting a chainsaw. What more can you ask for?

That scene is great. Love the one where he scares the two little girls as well. It's definitely a film that balanced horror/comedy effectively IMO.

Zombie Strippers

I was expecting more schlock fun and less... of whatever that was. Tito Ortiz had the right idea...

anything by Ulli Lomell

Not to say I don't watch his movies.

Chillerama comes to mind. I hate the self-aware horror comedy that spends too much time basking in how clever and/or funny they think they're being, that they forget to actually be funny or clever.

I've said it before but I hate the remake of Pirhana.

How this film got good reviews I'll never know. It features pretty much everything I hate in movies (and before you badger me, yes, that includes the "awesome" nude scenes as they were just pointless).

I also watched The Flesh And Blood Show the other day...not the worst film I've watched, but far from the best just becase I think it was so poorly shot. Most of the scenes are in a great deal of murky darkness probably to add atmosphere. It's just hard to make things out. Not to mention there's a lot of flesh (if you know what I mean) but not much blood.

But then, if I sound like a film snob, I can't help but love zombie films of Lucio Fulci who people either love (like fearsonarms) or hate (check out how people feel about therse films on IMDb)

Curse Of The Screaming Dead is one stinker than comes to mind. Pretty painful viewing. The even tricked a lot of people into watching it again by releasing it under a different title Curse of the Cannibal Confederates a few years later :D

I liked Chillerama a few of the segments were average but well worth a watch for the KILLER JIZZ :p

There's much worse horror comedies out there like Dead & Breakfast or Undead.

neverending 03-06-2012 02:19 PM

That's why these threads are always so contentious. I think what people think is bad is even more debatable than what they find good.

I thought Dead & Breakfast was near brilliant.

I didn't love Undead but Dead & Breakfast is one of my favorite horror/comedy flicks and I watch it fairly regularly.

I Ignore the ratings system on IMDB I don't think I've actually given many ratings (certainly no negative ones) except as you guessed-to films like The Beyond that need a ten out of ten from a fan. I understand not all horror fans will like Fulci's style as most of his films were very low budget-Imagine if he'd had the budget to make The Beyond 2 as he originally planned-maybe then after a break he could have made a more cohesive House By The Cemetary which as much as I adore it, I can certainly understand its flaws-Anyway point is I'm as surprised as you must be to see such scathing reviews of Fulci films from obvious non-horror fans who the films were not aimed at to begin with. It would be like me going on there and spouting venom about High School Musical what is the point? Fulci's zombie films are always going to be gold dust to us zombie fans so don't let people who say stupid things on IMDB bother you.

I have to agree that I was expecting The Flesh and Blood Show to be more violent but I love a forced uneasy atmosphere in any film so that won me over. I did really enjoy and thought it was great BUT still I'd say it was the weakest Pete Walker film I've seen so far which says a lot about what I think is the quality of his films I've seen so far.
