Don't Look Now
Jacob's Ladder
High Tension

Ferox13 07-19-2011 03:08 AM

I presume you mean popular with the fans rather than 'biggest selling'?

Dude really? Nightmare on Elm Street, Let The Right One In, Dracula, The Howling, Carrie, Sleepy Hollow, and The Omen? REALLY?

Lol seriously though, you're free to like and dislike whatever you want. I agree with you on 28 Days Later as i didnt like that but i did like 28 Weeks Later.

For me the biggest one has gotta be The Shining. I hated it and everyone loves that movie. Also The Hills Have Eyes Remake was raved about and i thought that was terrible. I'll come up with some more later.

Sorry, That list is totally wack. How could anyone like "28 Weeks Later" better than "28 Days" ? "Weeks" had a lot of action but a very silly plot, "Days" seems the opposite. Less action, more plot character driven. I don't know anything, the mom being the "carrier" in the ending was lame for me. TWwwwwwwwiiiist.

"Let the right one in" is a masterpiece, maybe a teenager might be bitter towards the romance/horror. It's a non-gay twilight haha. But it's great... in my opinion.

Zombieland is funny too. You shouldn't dislike so much for being "popular". You'll miss out on a lot in life...in my opinion.

I didnt like Days because i hate it when zombie movies go the military route and by that i mean the survivors happen upon a group of military men who take them back to their base and they think they are safe but the soldiers are crazy and attack them and such showing that humans are the bigger monsters and blah blah blah.

I know Weeks focused on the military too but that was more them trying to clean it up and keep it hidden then it was just them going batshit crazy. Also i liked the immune plot line. It added something to the story.

SPOILERSPlus the scene where the husband kisses the wife, turns and rips her to pieces is horrifying and really stuck in my mind
END OF SPOILERS

Also and i know this is a little homophobic of me but i really didnt need to see Cillian Murphy's dick.

Well yeah that makes sense though.

The Strangers--a tale of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

leezuki 07-20-2011 05:03 AM

also i thought 28 days later went into rambo, hacking everyone up and he was covered in blood but did not get infected.

let the right one in i just found so dull,i prefer near dark, vamp, lost boys, vampire movies like that, right one in just did not do it for me.zombieland was boring shaun of the dead i like perhaps because there have been to many zombie commidies nowdays.

Fearonsarms 07-20-2011 10:11 AM

Villain there's nothing homophobic about not wanting to see Murphy's dick-a while back in another thread someone said that Murphy begged the director to let him show his dick.

I hope this doesn't end up in another argument but off the top of my head-

Monkey Shines
Young Frankenstein
The Raven (60s one)
The Tomb Of Ligeia
Shaun Of The Dead
Various remakes I'm not going to promote
I Vampiri
Rear Window
Manhattan Baby
The Seventh Seal
Dead Birds
Burnt Offerings

The Villain 07-20-2011 10:15 AM

People just get so damn sensitive about things that i just felt like i had to say that like a little disclaimer. You have to watch every little thing you say now or else risking offending someone and unleashing the beast. It's really annoying.

Fearonsarms 07-20-2011 10:46 AM

I've seen plenty of tongue in cheek comments on here and I've seen some REAL homophobia-I like to think people here know the difference.

Fearonsarms 07-20-2011 03:08 PM

I loved the monster in Cloverfield so I didnt mention it earlier-I just hated the flashbacks and the human characters in it-but the whole monster side of things I did really enjoy.

Oh well then thats fine

Nini_luv5 07-21-2011 04:08 PM

The 'freaking' Messengers
... now that was a waste of time.
i cant believe i paid to see that

The Villain 07-21-2011 04:09 PM

I actually liked that.

Now The Messengers 2: The Scarecrow.......that's a different story

Nini_luv5 07-21-2011 04:19 PM

I guess my experience what just ruined by the screaming tweens in the theater.... but for me I felt it was just too much shock value with ominous figures passing the screen and screeching tones.. just not for me.

The Villain 07-21-2011 04:35 PM

Yeah that is overdone too much. I didnt love the movie and it certainly didnt scare me but i found a way to enjoy it.

Cloverfield was awesome in my opinion. The use of camera was the thing that turned everyone off (even though I loved it).

Most of them I kinda get why you didn't like them, and I also disliked Carrie. The novel was much more disturbing (not saying it was terrible. Just not worth all the excessive hype it got. Zombieland wasn't as good as it sounded either. Only things I would take off your list is the original A Nightmare on Elm Street and Let The Right One In, but hey, can't change your opinion right? :)

Invasion of the Body Snatchers is also one I never liked, and likely never will.

One I liked but think was slightly too overhyped was the American version of The Ring. Loved it, but would've expected more after what was promised. And that;s about it :p .

The Villain 07-23-2011 09:09 AM

Which Body Snatchers?

I agree, like i said in another thread, I really like those video cam movies like Rec., Quarantine, Blair Witch Project, Cloverfield, Paranormal Activitiy(s), The Fourth Kind...etc.

For me it makes it seem that much more real and Im more likely to jump or get scared by it, and it takes away the corniness from the more quality filmed movies

Yeah, it's like something you feel can never get old because of the extra dimensions it adds to the movie. No professional camerwork here; just a group of terrified people capturing the horrors around them.

Awesome :D
