Devil

I watched 2010's "Devil" last night, and I have to say that I am relieved that it wasn't as dumb as I originally took the film to be based on the previews and promos I had scene. The modern day "Who dun it", had me questioning who the suspect was many times over. I thoroughly enjoyed this M. Night production. He hasn't failed me yet. And hope he will continue to please.

I loved that movie and couldnt understand all the hate around it. Probably just because M. Night was involved in it. Glad to know theres someone else who likes his stuff. I love all his movies. I even liked The Happening.

My second favorite of his actually

Nini_luv5 05-31-2011 09:14 PM

My M. Night Top 3 would have to be:
1) Devil
2) Signs
3) Sixth Sense

I feel thatThe Happening had a tremendous amount of potential, but I really have to say that I Hated the ending with a passion... Completely random and seemed really half-assed in my opinion

Angra 05-31-2011 09:54 PM

The Sixth Sense was a masterpiece compaired to rest of his movies, imo.

Devil is directed by someone else, so not exactly a Night flick.

Just knowing that he had something to do with it though, makes it all the better :)

Do you feel the same about Stuart Little?

Nini_luv5 06-01-2011 09:42 PM

Absolutely!
Lol
I mean with in the genre ;P

Angra 06-01-2011 10:01 PM

To each his own, I guess..... crazy person.

Nini_luv5 06-01-2011 10:05 PM

I take it you didn't catch the sarcasm....

Elvis_Christ 06-04-2011 06:31 PM

I enjoyed this one. It reminded me a lot of Universal's output from the late 80s and early 90s.

Freak 06-04-2011 07:02 PM

It wasn't the greatest movie ever but I enjoyed more than I thought I would.

swiss tony 06-06-2011 08:06 AM

My top 3 are:

The Happening
Devil
The Village

I notice on IMDB, he hasn't got anything currently on the go. Does anyone know what his next project will be?

The Villain 06-06-2011 11:18 AM

I know he was working on another Night project. From what i remember its a court based scenario with a plot he had in mind for Unbreakable 2. Can't remember exactly what it was though.

I finally watched Devil today. It was pretty lame.

The Villain 06-12-2011 12:00 PM

What didnt you like about it? BTW im not arguing or anything, you're free to have your own opinion. I'm just curious.

TheWickerFan 06-12-2011 01:05 PM

I found it boring, repetitive, and unsatisfying. The only memorable part was the 'toast and jam' scene.

Toast and jam?

TheWickerFan 06-12-2011 01:35 PM

The scene where the toast landed jam side down.

Forgot all about that. It's been awhile since i saw it. Really thats the only memorable scene?

TheWickerFan 06-12-2011 03:33 PM

Pretty much, and I saw it less than 12 hours ago.

Well, were not all gonna like the same things. This movie seems to get pretty mixed reactions from what i've read. The only thing i dont like is the people who dislike it right out just because of Shyamalan's involvement. But i'm not gonna say anymore because the M.Night conversation has been done to death.

Yeah, I didn't appreciate the film getting slammed the way it did just because M. Night's name was on it (I started the 'Poor M. Night Shyamalan' thread). It seemed the verdict was in before anyone actually saw it.

Yeah thats a good thread. I mostly come across M. Night haters so its good to know that there are others who like his work. On another side though to the whole hating it right out thing, i also dont like people who automatically like his stuff (or any director's work for that matter) just because they were involved. I'm not like that. If he makes something i dont like (like The Last Airbender) i will say it was horrible. Devil i liked though.
