I was just wondering if anybody has ever been involved with wicca. I have been thinking of becoming a wiccan.

I think you should be thinking of doing something more productive.

I have been a practicing witch most of my life and can tell you that Wicca has given me more spiritualality than any other religion possibly could but like anything else you get out of it what you put into it.

If you are serious here are several books that I would recommend that you read and will help you understand Wicca and Witchcraft.

Guide for the Solitary Practioner- Scott Cunningham

Any book by Dorothy Morrison- I dont have the title in front of me but her books are excellent and are very easy for people to understand.

If you are male- Wicca for men by AJ Drew

and there is a good series of books called Green Witchcraft by Ann Amoura I believe but I may get the titles wrong because I dont have them in front of me.

Check out Borders or other book stores and read the backs of books to give you an idea what you are looking for.

i went to one of my friends gotherings once but it seemed all we really did was stand around a pentagram fire place and smoked alot of pot.
i dont know if thats what most wiccens do.

The word "Wicca" is simply an Old English term for Witch. And both Witchcraft and Paganism were practiced by almost all cultures.

I have a degree in acient history speacilising in this ... but I guess I wasted my time ... I did not say ssf does not know anything about it ... I disagree, but I get that she is viewing it from a diffrent point of view yes there is a broad term pagan ... but the religeons of which she speaks are unrealated!

***sigh*** Let me explain this to you as if you were a 5 year old. WICCA is just the English word for witch. No single culture invented Witchcraft. It was practiced abroad. There are many kinds of Witchcraft. Where the fuck is Haunted? I don't have the patience for this!!!!
