Wahey! I haven't been on much lately but I wouldn't miss this for the world!

They are. It's a real blast, especially on the actual Awards night ceremony when Neverending does live commentary on his radio station (http://www.neverendingwonder.com) of the Awards as they roll out one by one.

Welcome to THE HDC AWARDS 2010-2011, brought to you by NeverEnding Wonder Radio, and yours truly.

As you all know, this annual event is held every year to honor the best (and worst) of HDC in the past one year.

This year we have gone further down in terms of traffic. Members have slowly drifted in and out, we had sporadic moments of old members returning plus trolls trying their best to invade us. Either way, it can be safely said that we have been hit by a big wave of depression and recession, just like the US economy. Those of us who are here try our best to make this site a lively and enjoyable one for all the horror fans out there. And it is those whom we will be honoring in this annual event of ours - the HDC Awards.

Here we go with this year's Horries. These are the categories in which you have to send in your choices/nominations for 2010-11 :-

  6) Most Knowledgeable In Horror
  7) Best Avatar
  8) Best Signature
  9) Funniest Member

  11) Biggest Site Whore
  12) Biggest Troublemaker
  13) Weirdest Member
  14) Most Missed Member
  15) Most Absent Member
  16) Most Improved Member
  17) Best thread of HDC in 09-10

In addition to the above, there are 2 very special and prestigious awards which will be awarded unanimously on the actual Awards night.

The Award ceremony will then culminate with a very special message by your President, who will be unveiling a big surprise for all of you!


You may send in your entry outlining your choices/nominations for categories 01-17 in the next three weeks.

So without further delay, put your thinking caps on, and send off the entries to me - either through PMs or email me at [email protected], mentioning your HDC nickname and having the Subject "My Entry for HDC Awards 2010."

Entries will be accepted starting from this moment, till Midnight of Tuesday, December 28th, 2010.

The very special Sneak Peek is scheduled for Wednesday, December 29th...and the Awards ceremony will be held on the evening of Thursday, December 30th. Please make a note of the dates.

Well, my company Christmas Party is coming up- don't know which night yet. Since I'm in management I have to be there. So, I might or might not be able to make it.

Hmm...hopefully it will be finished the previous weekend before the 30th, because the 25th falls on Saturday. I am positive you might be free on the 30th though.

Into the second day of voting, and the number of entries I have with me stands at 4.

The numbers should increase over the next few days. I am hoping to get 10 by the same time, tomorrow.

And as soon as I get the first 10 entries, I ll start on the works.

Am thinking word hasn't gotten around yet. That, or people are busy with Christmas shopping and stuff. Hopefully they will see this once the weekend comes in.

After the first rounds of ballots-casting, I have 15 entries with me so far.

(2008 had 29, 2009 had 27...can 2010 top both those years? Wait and see)



Highlights :-

- The Most Irrelevant Poster category has a new leader, and its NOT Posher, NOR Angra, NOR Ferretchucker! :eek:

- Looks like the Gods finally relented on NE - he's not leading in either of the categories he won last year. :D

- The contest for Best Avatar is hotting up fiercely, with THREE members duking it out between themselves so far!

- Newb has a new contender snapping on his heels for the Funniest Member category. (nope, it's not Zero)

- It's a TIE right now for Biggest Troublemaker - between someone whom you all know and someone whom you might have never even thought of in this category! :confused:

- The member leading the pack for the Weirdest Member category will fall out of their chair, if I told their name!

- Really close battle for the Most Absent Member Horry.

- The Best Thread and Most Irrelevant Members see the most number of nominations - 10 each!
