October

I completely dig the whole month of October. I just smoked a bowl then ate a Reese's Pumpkin with a tall glass of cold milk. The weather is perfect. The colorful foliage rules. Peoples houses decorated with skulls and ghosts and Halloween is just around the corner....RAD!!

Totally...best month of the year.

Thanksgiving (for us Canadian folk), Halloween, beautiful weather...just a great atmosphere all month. Can't beat it.

My window never closes in October. It's great!

Halloween isnt such a big thing in the UK. Which is such a shame. I generally make a big deal, graveyard in the garden, house covered in web and have a big party. This year however I have moved away from friends and family and shall not be having a party and it hardly even feels like Oct to me now. I love autumn (is this season called fall in america?) but without my party I feel lost lol. I guess its down to the local pub in fancy dress this year lol.

Oh what are Reese's Pumpkin?

Angra 10-19-2010 02:23 AM

Yeah but few shops sell them. I have tried them, being a massive lover of peanut butter. I thought maybe the pumpkin ones were different lol. Still, we dont have enough pumpkin shaped food. Hell you are lucky to find an actual pumpkin here.

I had a cigar, some port, and listened to Neverending radio a bit yesterday... very relaxing time of the year and I really dig the weather.

Were you sitting by a fire in a big chair with robe and slippers on ?

The Ugly Duchess 10-20-2010 11:18 AM

I love the month of October.

Even down here in Mardi Gras land the temps do drop. At some time during the month there is some nice crisp cool weather.

Really great to go out and take my two mile walks.

Also love to see the changing of the leaves. Have been wanting to go on a fall foalige tour.

It is so nice to drive in the country and see the hay bailed and the pumpkins on the ground.

Halloween offers another chance to do my many costume characters in addition to Mardi Gras and benefits requiring costumes.

So all in all this month of October, along with April, are my two favorite months.

The problem down here is that they don't last long enough.

Nope, outside on the deck, I could smoke in my movie room but with cigars I need a hell of a ventilation system.

Thanks very much for tuning in!

It's sunny and 75° here in Omaha. I can't believe it's late October. At this time last year we had 10in of snow on the ground.

Caenxavier 10-20-2010 05:13 PM

I love October!

Fall weather is my favorite. But here in Idaho, it's a bit screwed up.

For example, we have had nice, crisp fall weather all week but today it was up to 80.

Fuck the high desert.

Also - I do like October, though apparently the cats do not. I am trying to keep them in sweaters to get them warm, but they're having NONE of it. sigh

Brother, October just wouldn't be the same without my favorite uncle. :)

neverending 10-20-2010 09:21 PM

Tomorrow I will buy Halloween candy. I live upstairs in a secure building so I will have no trick or treaters. The candy is for me. I'll buy some candy corn, which, even though it's terrible, I love because it's the one Halloween treat that links us back to the days when Halloween was a harvest festival, and I'll buy one of those variety packs, for the sheer nostalgia value.

If any of it actually lasts till Halloween, I'll be surprized.

We got our first taste of the cold today. It's only 46 degrees. Not bad for late October.
