Finally finished

To match my forth year here at Horror.com, I have just finished my tenure in full time educaotion. From here on out I have the choice to either continue learning or simply live life by my terms.

I have chosen to carry on, studying my AS and then A Levels for the next two years which I will then hopefully be able to get into University with.

The reason today is the day that I finished is because I got my GCSE results. For those of you who don't know, the GCSEs are the qualifications that every british school child is expected to achieve. Some are compulsory, some are not. It works on a basis of A* being the highest, working through to G and then it jumps to U (ungraded) being the lowest. Anything lower than a C is not considered a pass.

Most are 2 year courses and include both coursework assignments and a final exam. Here are my results...

English Literature - A*
Religious Studies - A*
Science - A
Additional Science - A
Citizenship (Short course) - A
Drama - A
History - A
English - A
Music - A
Economics (Short Course) - B
ICT - Merit (equal to 2 bs)
Statistics - B
Geography - B
Maths - B

This may or may not be of interest to you, but I like to keep you all updated my friends. Anybody else got important results recently?

Great job Ferret. Keep up the great work. What do you want to study?

ferretchucker 08-24-2010 07:59 AM

We get to do 4 subjects for our AS levels in the first year, then we continue with three of those on the next year to get the full A Level. I'll be doing...

English, History, Psychology and Biology.

Congratulations

Spiffing good show old bean, well done, do you think this forum helped you.

ferretchucker 08-24-2010 08:24 AM

I like to think my occasional script writing here helped my language skills :p

Congratulations!
I'm currently having all of my hard earned credits withheld from me due to a loan....which is only $745...

And yet I still get calls from colleges to come back, and I want to, but they won't let me....

And I'm broke because I don't have a job, and I could get a job if I could finish school....but they won't let me.....

God bless America!

ManchestrMorgue 08-25-2010 12:27 AM

Congratulations! Those are some good results. Now go do something useful with them :-)

roshiq 08-25-2010 12:45 AM

Oh, that's a bit boring transcript for a Ferret...all As & few Bs...no Cs..no thrills; you need to work more hard for that I guess:D.

Anyway Congratulations, FC. Best wishes for your future studies.:)

Dear, oh dear...how embarrasing.

Meh, I feel it accurately reflects the schooling system of Rural Norfolk...

Congrats.
My advice for the future...take some time to think ahead, yourself.
Do not waste a moment of your time even entertaining what anyone else thinks/suggests you should do unless you immediately see for yourself serious possibilities in it for you to lead a satisfying life when it comes to your eventual path of work/study - because if you do it will be just that, a waste of time, a roadblock, a delay.
Start evaluating the world in everything you see and do, without preconception...this should show you, where you might want to be heading.

Well done Ferret. All the best for the future man. I'd love to go back in time to this period of my life and do a few things differently :o

Hell yes... me too. :/

ferretchucker 08-25-2010 05:46 PM

Thanks again, guys. Still, the journey isn't over yet! Got to do my AS levels, my A Levels, then at least three years of University (dunno what to study, I'll decide based on what I most enjoy and has the most promising prospects over the next few years.)

And hindsight is a wonderful thing but as we all know, all you can do is keep working to make the future better for yourself.

For sure man and I do. The time you've wasted just hits home a bit more when you're getting older.
