What Actor or Actress made more horror films?

Peter Cushing
christopher lee
What do you all think?

Checking imdb will answer that pretty quickly.

More interesting to me is who is the all time horror queen, Ingrid Pitt or Barbara Steele?

Phantom Stranger 08-09-2010 02:26 PM

Well for the Actress would have no clue?

WOW that's a tough one!!! I would say Pitt, I guess....

I'm partial to Linnea Quigley...not so much a classic old school vixen, but man, she's a big reason I'm a horror fan today.

Besides, 1985 counts as "classic" now doesn't it?

Does it matter? They were all amazing xx

Of the fellas listed it would have to be Price, I would think. That guy was in everything in the 50's, 60' and 70's.
Lee would be my second followed by Cushing.

Christopher Lee has made hundreds of films, many of them horror. Id be tempted to have him as the top.

neverending 08-10-2010 12:15 AM

IMDB counts of total films:

Lee: 267
Price: 186
Cushing: 130

Somebody else will have to go through and see how many they consider horror.

So Lee was the one, he did a lot of sci-fi as well.

According to IMDB's genre sorting:

Lee - 92 horror.
Cushing - 56 horror.
Price - 53 horror.

So, Lee's easily the most prolific. Price will always be my favourite though.

Karloff scores 56 too, so he's joint second with Cushing.

The answer to the question is pretty much definitively answered in post #13:

Vincent Price hands down - The man was a genius. Without him, horror wouldn't be as mainstream as it is now.

The question wasn't who had the most influence, it simply wanted to know who made the most horror movies. See post 13.

My bad - When I first read the title, I misread it for something else. Sorry about that.
