Top Swimming Pool Scenes

These are my favorite scenes centered around a swimming pool with frightening or deadly results:

Burnt Offerings
The Legacy (self closing)
This House Possessed (self boiling)
Poltergeist (unfinished but occupied)
Let The Right One In
Cat People

What did I miss?

Gremlins
The Faculty

Let the Right One In, the swimming pool scene is my most memorable scene from the film....http://www.horror.com/forum/showthread.php?t=51214

The `swimming pool` scene from poltergeist haunted me for years =D
Besides from the ones you have mentioned, there is the human centipide and AvP2.
I love the scene from let the right one in, its the best!

Great picks! :)

The Human Centipede pool scene was heart wrenching.

The Gremlins! Three rules to follow, and how to break every last one of them.http://s3.hubimg.com/u/2197362_f520.jpg

I haven't seen any of these films yet:o I really like the looks of The Prowler.

I guess I'll watch The Final Destination; it'll probably be as fun as the others.http://newsinfilm.com/images//2009/0...-body-pool.jpghttp://metalitymark.files.wordpress....ination-12.jpg

THE PROWLER is a great, trashy slasher flick. It is one of the most mean-spirited of the genre (which usually turns me off, but in a decade of shitty slashers, this made it stand out) and the gore is excellent.

not as good as THE BURNING, but better than most of the other non-franchise slashers

I haven't seen The Burning either:o I've been hearing a lot about that movie; I really must watch it.

I know its a tv show, but I use to watch 'Are you Afraid of the Dark' one of my fav. childhood shows, I remember one episode 'the tale of dead man's float' and remember it being one of the more frightening episodes.

I couldn't find a picture of the pool with the monster,, but here's one of the monster itself

Now after that post, I really want to watch Are you afraid of the Dark again!

TheWickerFan 07-16-2010 03:36 PM

It was a great show, I used to watch it with the children.

I remembered another pool episode, The Hatching:http://sydlexia.com/imagesandstuff/a.../hatching2.png
