These are my favorite movies where aliens invaded Earth:

War Of The Worlds
Invasion Of The Body Snatchers
Signs
The Arrival

What are your favorite Alien Invasion movies?

ChrisSTC 06-13-2010 04:12 PM

I think my favorite was the Close Encounters Movies.

TheWickerFan 06-13-2010 04:52 PM

I loved Close Encounters Of The Third Kind, but didn't consider it an Alien Invasion movie.

Tobe Hooper's Invaders From Mars remake is one of my favorites.

Strange Invaders was a fun flick too.

WARNING POSSIBLE SPOILERS

Were the triffids from another planet? I thought they were a home-grown species that saw their opportunity to do bad things when the majority of the human population went blind.

I LOVE this story; with all the crappy remakes out there, why can't they remake this movie with some REALLY SCARY triffids?

Does Splinter fit?

I saw Splinter quite a while ago. I love that freaky movie. Its amazing how effective it was. It dont know if it fits here but I thought I would mention it. If you havent seen it I think youll get a kick out of it.

TheWickerFan 08-03-2010 04:54 AM

I did see it.

I'm not sure if it was meant to be an alien or homegrown contagion, but it was pretty cool.http://hannahpoturalski.files.wordpr...0/splinter.jpg

My all time fave, Galaxy Invader... low-budget underrated alien invasion!

TheWickerFan 08-03-2010 09:59 AM

I remember that film. It was featured in the opening credits of Pod People, an alien invasion Mystery Science Theater classic:http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_mVZ__QdOGQ...00/303Pod3.jpg

I quite liked that way that particularly the first half of Independence Day, the viewer is very unaware of the alien's real motives and such. I mean, for so long all we see of them is the enormous space ship. I felt that it captured the confusion that one would feel in such a situation quite well.

Yeah, I felt the same way. The film started off promising enough, but rapidly deteriorated. Pretty cool spaceship though.http://www.paranormalpeopleonline.co...ndence-day.jpg
