I thought Salam's Lot was one of his better ones. It scared the hell out of me when I was a kid. But that is probably because I like vamp movies.

allmykids 04-20-2004 06:51 PM

Dreamcatcher!!! Stink BOMB!!! :(

GorePhobia 04-20-2004 06:51 PM

ill also say thinner....and The Night Flier or whatever its called...that sucked

SFF 04-20-2004 06:57 PM

Oh, I thought The Stand was a big pile of crap as well. Like Steve Hutchinson said in a PM to me, a villan with a mullet was a stank idea.

GorePhobia 04-20-2004 07:11 PM

ha ha ha thats great....i love steve he is funny

evil_blonde 04-20-2004 07:14 PM

ok just like almost every fucking thread i havent seen many movies.....i thought misery the book was fantastic and the movie was remarkably retarded compared to that but....otherwise i havent got a clue :)

GorePhobia 04-20-2004 07:22 PM

its okay blondie i still wuv you

GorePhobia 04-20-2004 07:26 PM

SFF 04-20-2004 07:33 PM

More additions:

The Tommyknockers and Sometimes They Come Back.

Well, that's all of my posting here on Horror.com for the evening. Now, I'm off to the Colin Mochrie forum.

Toodles

GorePhobia 04-20-2004 07:35 PM

see ya SFF

Freddy Krueger. 04-20-2004 07:50 PM

Dreamcatcher. It was ok, but... really, did you hear that bad guys voice? And then some dumb red-head. Also, in the beginning when the first alien is shown, they never show that one again. What was up with that?

Unaboner3000 04-20-2004 07:51 PM

Absolutely horrible:

Maximum Overdrive
Cujo
Tommyknockers
The Dead Zone
Christine
Thinner
The Running Man
Needful Things
The Dark Half
Salem's Lot
The Stand
Carrie
Sleepwalkers
IT
Cat's Eye
Sometimes They Come Back
The Night Flier
Firestarter
AND PROBABLY SEVERAL I'VE FORGOT ABOUT

Good films of King's:
The Shawshank Redemption
Stand by Me
The Green Mile
Misery
The Shining

orangestar 04-20-2004 08:03 PM

Carrie was pointless, Firestarter? what the hell, and Thinner was crap.

Everything else was okay-good on my scale

Freddy Krueger. 04-20-2004 08:29 PM

I liked The Dark Half.

Arioch 04-20-2004 09:50 PM

Rose Red, Storm of the Century, ugh, countless others, Tommy knockers, ugh, Dream catcher....

What are you talkin about SFF, you didnt like The Stand? I thought it was one of the better ones. i remember the scene where randall flag showed up at the old colorado place when mother abagail was playing guitar and said "your blood is in my hands mother", and then she started to bleed all over the guitar strings, i thought that was kinda cool.

Granted it wasnt that scary, but i thought itwas above par when judged by miniseries, especially mr.kings...i am partial tho, i enjoyed the book as well. Its no "IT" tho;)

Hate_Breeder 04-20-2004 10:20 PM

I would have to go with The Langoliers, and Dreamcatcher..........By the Way "I am Dudditz!"

Hardly:rolleyes: , most of these ill agree with, but Christine (WITH JOHN CARPENTERS SOUNDTRACK AND DIRECTING), Firestarter, The stand, Salems Lot (cant BELIVE YOU INCLUDED THIS ONE), THE RUNNING MAN? , and im a big fan of Cujo, altho most people on this board think it sucks.

Are these movies cheesy? ya maybe, do they have quesitonable directing in parts, and editing flaws in others, sure. But ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE?? you need to see more horror my friend...

last bad move 04-21-2004 12:38 AM

i like all of the kings stuff but if i had to choose the worst one whould have to be thiner. but the ending was kinda cool and the rest of it sucked. i was most disipointed about the storm of the centry i loved all until the end and that bummed me out

Arioch 04-21-2004 12:41 AM

Agreed. Thinner is pretty awful.

Theory 04-21-2004 04:35 AM

Cabin Fever. Was that even done by stephen king?

GorePhobia 04-21-2004 06:26 AM

Cabin Fever was deff not made by King....Thinner was horrible.....

SK movies i liked:
IT
Salem's Lot
Christine
and maybe a few more

KRUGERKID13 04-21-2004 09:17 AM

pet semetery 2 is absoloutly crappy

GorePhobia 04-21-2004 09:52 AM

Gein84 04-21-2004 10:25 AM

Well, I've seen plenty of horror, and I've read most of King's works. The Stand and IT are AMAZING books that just should not have been made into film (ESPECIALLY the Stand!). The film does not come CLOSE to doing the book justice. I will concede that the Stand and Christine were not "absolutely horrible" movies. But I sure wouldn't put 'em on my "kicks ass" movie list.

SFF 04-21-2004 08:19 PM

Well, I'm a little shocked that Christine made somebodie's list. That was, IMO, one of his best. But, everyone has their tastes.

GorePhobia 04-21-2004 08:21 PM

i loved Christine SFF i dont understand ppl either

Well, maybe they just couldn't buy the whole "possesed car" concept. Anyhow, I loved it. The part where "Arnie's" sack lunch gets the knife, courtesy of "Buddy" was priceless.
