Favorite Modern Horror movie Directors.

I'm talking about Rob Zombie, Wes Craven, Tobe Hooper, John Carpenter, Michael Bay, etc.

also...Favorite horror movie actors.
Meaning...Derek Mears, Tyler Mane, Robert Englund, Kane Hodder, Johnny Depp (As Glen in A Nightmare on Elm Street)

For me...My Favorite Slasher film directors are Wes Craven, Rob Zombie, John Carpenter (Halloween especially), Michael Bay (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2003 and Friday the 13th 2009)
I really liked Corey Feldman as young Tommy Jarvis in Friday the 13th Part IV: The Final Chapter and his Cameo appearence in his dreams in Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning. Johnny Depp as Nancy Thompson's boyfriend, Glen in the original Nightmare on Elm street from '84, and I also really liked Derek Mears as Jason Voorhees in the 2009 Reboot of the Friday franchise and Tyler Mane as the sinister Michael Myers from Rob Zombie's reboots of the Halloween Franchise.

Michael Bay (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2003 and Friday the 13th 2009)
Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2003 and Friday the 13th 2009 were both directed by Marcus Nispel.
From not knowing who your supposed favorite director is, to not knowing what a TV movie is, you have little credibility.

Don't know that director, but I LOVE Asian horror - Looking at his catalogue, he's quite prolific... Any movies in particular by him you would recommend?

Also: I would consider David Lynch a borderline horror director, so he's on my list too...

Oops my bad! I didn't watch horror movies until I entered my mid teen years like... 17 years old and such, before that I've only seen a few horror films and they were (TCSM: The Next Generation, Freddy Vs. Jason, Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers) Michael Bay is just the producer, that was my bad, and yeah. I'm still young. I'm only 19.

I dont know why David Lynch doesnt direct a horror movie. it twould for sure be the scariest damn movie ever. This scene in Mulholland Drive i think scared me more out of any scene I've ever watched.

Nr1. Easily Dario Argento and the following is in random order: Stanley Kubrik, John Carpenter, George A. Romero, and #drumroll#... James Cameron (Surprise, surprise my fav director)
But my taste for horror flicks change - 2 years ago i could have added several more directors, but i have growed tired of themes like college horror/asian-long-black-haired-ghost-girls/spooky kids.. So i keep my list short..

Bastet 05-20-2010 09:40 AM

Yep Argento.

But think Fulci is underated- love his stuff
Also Bava Jr

TheWickerFan 06-04-2010 03:29 AM
