Ok, a challenge...

How many horror films can you name where the 'evil' character is a little girl? (Either she is the source of evil, or the evil is 'channelled' through her)

I'll start:-

The Exorcist
Silent Hill
Orphan

Let's see how many we can think of - extra credit for recent film and films based on psychological horror rather than gore.

Ferox13 01-07-2010 09:44 AM

Ok:

Children as killers in Modern Horror

urgeok2 01-07-2010 11:32 AM

missmacabre 01-07-2010 12:07 PM

Reminds me, I have an essay to type up and post.

Okay but honestly, is this for homework, or blog research? Perhaps you are making a facebook quiz or something? It doesn't seem like you are legitimately trying to challenge us, because we are, in fact, not idiots. We are a horror community, and thus, know a lot more about horror than the average person, so when posed with such a simple question, we're not being challenged at all.

If you need help with something, just ask for help, let us know why you're looking for info. We'll likely help you. Afterward, update us when you are done with your current project, and we will take a look. Simple as that. Insults, however, get you no where.

Well, ok, maybe saying it's a 'challenge' in the thread title was the wrong approach - I was merely asking for titles of horror films with the stated scenerio so that I could go watch them, 'casue they're the type I like the most and wanted recommendations - I guess I should have phrased it differently, sorry 'bout that.

I was refering to the person I quoted, posting a link to a picture of dogshit as a response doesn't strike me as helpful or intelligent.

It was a joke. People like to make sure you can take a joke, before we take you seriously. Go on now.. laugh it off. :p

Anywho, can this suggestion list be a little broader? Maybe some films with supernatural themes, and creepy children, but not so menacing? Or boys and not just girls? I'll just list as many as I can think of and a little descriptor.

The Orphanage (ghost of little boy)
The Devil's Backbone (same deal, same director)
The Changeling (amazing movie, ghost of boy, such a classic. I suggest you see this one.)
The Omen (again, evil boy is not a girl)
The Good Son (Macaulay Culkin is mad)
The Brood (another classic)
Children of the Corn (I'm getting to lazy to describe these)
Village/Children of the Damned
The Bad Seed
Ringu/The Ring

Firstly - there seems to be lots of 1st posts here from people asking for this or that. Help with an essay/dissertation/homework etc and when its answered we never hear from them again..No post on the introduce yourself thread or no other contribution to the board at all.....

i presuming your post of one of these when you list only 3 films so you've obviously not done any research at all and then to add insult to injury you state you will give members hereextra credit for recent film and films based on psychological horror rather than gore...

Well thank you very much..

So with regard to my post being a response [that] doesn't strike me as helpful or intelligent. - it was intended to make you self reflect and ponder why would my 1st post on a new board get such a reply :-)

PS - I'm not an idiot..

urgeok2 01-08-2010 05:12 AM

i didnt click on the link myself ..

is it a verified fact that it is indeed dog shit ? (was the dog in the picture ? was the dog actively depositing the shit ?)

if not - could it have been any other kind of shit ?

could it have - in fact - been : EVIL CHILD SHIT -t -t -t -t -t

(those little dashes and t's are supposed to be an echo ..

as if some TV announcer had said in a deep low loud voice . EVIL CHILD SHIT - in which case there would be an ominous echo afterwards)

cheebacheeba 01-08-2010 06:46 AM

I like imagining it as a skipping cd...
Meanwhile, thread poster. Stop being a little bitch.

Well its White and you just just don't see that any more...

Any way creepy kidz (both boys and girls):

The Child - 'Creepy girl uses ghouls to kill people..'

Beware! Children At Play - Low Grade Troma with zombie kids.

Plague Town - American tourists searching for their roots discover bad acting and mutant children in rural Ireland.

The Children (2008) - Cool kids turn on their parents Brit thriller..

The Children (1980) - Nuked bus full of kids turn into zombies...

Would You Kill a Child? - Tourists arrive on an island full of killer nipperz..

From a Whisper to a Scream - Great antology film featuring a segment with evil orphaned Civil war children.

Wicked Little Things - More zombie kids

Devil Times Five - 5 psycho children (both girls and boys) escape from a mental hospital and attack rich folks at a resort..

The Damned - Pretty good Hammer sci-fi about radioactive children.

Abby - Blaxpolitation version of The Exorcist.

Home movie - found footage film similar to The Children.

Thank you, Urge.

I don't think anyone mentioned Alice, Sweet Alice. Good, creepy flick. The Bad Seed, The Children, and Home Movie are my favorites. My friend also recently recommended ¿Quién puede matar a un niño?/Who Would Kill A Child/Island of the Damned.

Orphan and Burial has made me assume all children are midgets in disguise unless proven otherwise...

cheebacheeba 01-09-2010 06:44 AM

You punch them in the face, the adults roll with it better.

missmacabre got The Bad Seed.

I got The Children - Home Movie and Quién puede matar a un niño?...

Is the killer in Alice, Sweet Alice an adult though..its years since I seen it..

Doc Faustus 01-09-2010 09:09 AM

I recommend not watching Cathy's Curse which also fits into this category.

Ferox13 01-09-2010 04:14 PM

And strangely enuff no sign of the OP since his/her question was partially answered..

Doc Faustus 01-09-2010 04:33 PM

He's busy watching evil child movies. Like you should be, slacker!

Very true - I've been scouring online stores for the films mentioned so far, and have ordered some of them... so I'm looking forward to some viewing some time next week.

Thanks to everyone who's dropped titles so far! :)
