Left 4 Dead in 8-bit glory!

Old school gamers should really get a kick out of this one.

Someone has gone through the trouble of converting the original Left for Dead into an 8-bit NES game. So far they have converted the first campaign, 'No Mercy' with plans to convert all 5 maps of all 4 campaigns.

The game is scheduled to be made available as a free PC download Jan 4th, 2010. According to the game's creator, '([Left 4 Dead developer] Valve doesn't know about it yet, but I'm sure (with their love of community creations) that they will find this mildly amusing at worst, and hilarious at best.'

Looks a little easy but not a bad start at all!

LOL. Nice. I'll have to download it. And I might actually be able to play THIS version on advanced.

Definitely going to play this when it's done.

The 8-Bit craze is astounding. The further we get away from the bad graphics of old, the more we reuse them and play them.

Here is an 8-Bit version of Tekken 2, which I believe was made for the actual NES console, way back when Tekken 2 came out. (The same was done for the SNES I believe):

Gametrailers...

As bad as this looks, I'm sure that a lot of people here, would enjoy taking it for a spin.

Long live retro games....

How do they play, and where can I get them? I have not had the pleasure as of yet. Only found the video.

Pixel Force: Left 4 Dead is a retro de-make of Valve's hit zombie killing masterpiece.

Lovingly recreated in a fashion that would have been acceptable in 1986 for the Nintendo Entertainment System, this de-make stands as the flagship title of the upcoming Pixel Force series from Eric Ruth Games.

Go alone, or invite a friend for 2 player co-op against the zombie apocalypse in all 4 of the original game campaigns. 2 difficulties and all 4 of the survivors make a glorious 8-bit appearence, complete with first and second tier weapons scattered along your path to escape.

So, grab your controller of choice and kick back with an award-winning retro take on the end of the world with Pixel Force: Left 4 Dead.

If that doesn't work, try here - http://www.bigdownload.com/games/pix...ull-free-game/

The download is about 19.5 MB, and its freeware.

Enjoy, folks!
