scary horror music !!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

what music do you all think has been the scariest from a horror movie ?
i think the music from psycho is scary

bloody_ribcut 09-14-2009 08:28 AM

i liked the soundtrack to "house", that and "Halloween"

The music to Living Dead at the manchester morgue is really eery. I like some of the Goblin stuff done for Argento - 'Witch' in Suspira is preety creepy.

Goblin's DAWN OF THE DEAD score is great as is their work on SUSPIRIA, TENEBRE and DEEP RED

Carpenter's HALLOWEEN might be the second most iconic horror music (behind Bernard Herrman's PSYCHO)

James Bernard's work for Hammer Films is really solid, particularly on THE CURSE OF fRANKENSTEIN, THE HORROR OF DRACULA, THE DEVIL RIDES OUT and FRANKENSTEIN MUST BE DESTROYED (just to name a few)

'The Omen' has a quality soundtrack, perfect for the film. 'Halloween' & 'Jaws' both have good soundtracks too.

I

I think the theme to THE OMEN is the creepiest piece of music I've ever heard. Some of the PSYCHO stuff comes in second.

Goblin

This one sounds creepy to me, some people think it sounds happy, to each their own.

More Goblin

Here's a link with a few good ones, no classics though. The music of Vampyr is great, but do some searching, there is a TON of great horror movie music out there.

Horror MUSIC?

WTF?

wufongtan. 09-17-2009 02:48 PM

I think the music played to the chase scene at the start of 28 weeks later was the best ever. it suited it to a tee. great stuff.

I myself enjoy the original Dawn of the Dead, and of course one of every ones favorites Halloween.:D

Zero 09-26-2009 04:57 PM

the exorcist is definitely the most chilling. i like the silence of the lambs soundtrack - powerful.

as for fun with horror film soundtracks - i love the gorillaz opening for M1A1 with the tune from Day of the Dead
