covers you think should be/should've been done

What covers do you think should be or should've (if the band broke up or they're dead) been done?

-I think Blind Melon would've done a great cover of China Grove by the Doobie Brothers.
-I always thought Johnny Cash would've done a great cover of Behind Blue Eyes by the Who. I mean, he was doing covers of songs on his last couple albums anyways

Arioch 04-07-2004 02:29 AM

First of all, great thread Sam. The band has to be gone right? i could imagine a lot of good covers. I think Opeth could do a badass rendition of "Comfortably Numb" - Pink Floyd, or "Wish you were here" for that matter. I would love to see some early grunge songs get covered by some of todays bands. It just feels like no body listens to grunge anymore, like since nobody makes it the its not cool to listen to. But i fucking love some of those tunes by Alice In Chains, Nirvana, Soundgarden, and too a lesser extent Pearl Jam.

One a somewhat related tangent...

We are currently covering "Policy of Truth" - Depeche Mode, "Winter" - Tori Amos, "Got Me Wrong" - Alice In Chains, and "The Trial" - Pink Floyd.

Sam The Egg 04-07-2004 12:47 PM

no, it can be an existing band/musician. I just happened to have used ones that were dead/broken up

Sam The Egg 04-17-2004 06:10 PM

bump, come on, SOMEONE must be able to think of some besides Arioch

HighPriestWise 04-17-2004 06:56 PM

Im sorry, its fucking BEAUTIFUL. It makes black sabbaths version sound like it was recorded in a garage, with some shitty effects on Ozzy's vocals, just download it Feral, and listen to that solo,.....man.....

*LOL not that I thought you would be sh*t just I know a lot of the people on this forum are into super hard metal thats sounds like a cat being raped over the top of banging dustbin lids and chainsaws!

Hey thanks man. I'm glad you like it, you should hit bloodrayne up for the new one, as shes the only one that has it currently (she has the intrumental version, im waiting to put it out with vocals which is why no one else has the instru.) but im glad you liked it.

LOL ya, alot of people on this site are into Grindcore, Hardcore, and various other FILLINTHEBLANK/core that i just dont understand. I like music with alot of melody in all the parts, screaming constantly and 2000 beats per minute dont do it for me.....

StaggerLee 04-20-2004 08:28 AM

Bowie should've never done a cover from "Like a Rolling stone". it's just bad.
also, Tom Jones and Ram Jam and basically everyone else but Nick Cave and Leadbelly should leave "Black Betty" alone..

GorePhobia 04-20-2004 06:16 PM

im happy you liked the cover feral

Evisceration 04-21-2004 02:13 PM

Cradle Of Filth did a Misfits cover...forget which song.

But the misfits suck anyway, but COF makes em look good.

Yeah, you're right.
