Saturday...

I'm really nervous about this. Saturday, I have a signing and meet and greet at my local Borders. My books are now on the shelf of a large chain store and I will be seated at a table signing them and introducing people to Bizarro fiction, small press horror and myself. I'm pretty sure none of you live anywhere near Naperville, Illinois so I figured this didn't really belong in events and happenings. Just wanted to share my good fortune.

i wish i lived closer so i could come give moral support. i'm sure it will be great. be sure to shamelessly promote it everywhere!!

urgeok2 07-06-2009 07:09 AM

why nervous ? its usually the fans that are the nervous ones ... you're in control.

cheebacheeba 07-06-2009 07:21 AM

Send me a signed copy of the book.
So if you die, it's ok...I can still sell it.

Just chill, go in, drink coffee...and try to convince some people that yknow, you feel strongly about your work or whatever. Congrats.
Ask the girls, for group sex.

Does this mean Murderland Pt. 2 is out?

Take along a good book to read....

ChronoGrl 07-06-2009 08:20 AM

That. Is. AWESOME!!! Good luck, Garret!

(and come to Boston! :p)

newb 07-06-2009 08:29 AM

Good luck Doc. I tend to agree with urgeok.....the fans will be more nervous meeting a "celebrity".

_____V_____ 07-06-2009 08:35 AM

Good to know, Doc. All the best.
I m sure you ll come out trumps. Just be laid back and enjoy yourself.

Zero 07-06-2009 08:53 AM

and keep your hands off those nubile young hot fans who will do ANYTHING to get close to horror genius (or at least be careful)!

Papillon Noir 07-06-2009 09:09 AM

Wow! That's pretty awesome, Doc! Good Luck! :)

Spitting distance, my friend. I finished my edits, Needle needs to give it one more read through and then send it to the press. This is to promote H8 locally and tell people that LDW is coming. Plus, the Midwest doesn't know much about Bizarro so I figured it might be a good chance to let some people in on it.

Doc Faustus 07-06-2009 10:13 AM

Thanks everyone for the support and kind wishes. And come to think of it, my girlfriend will be at work, so I'll have three hours to appropriate the stock room and squeeze in all the fan girls I can handle during that time.

neverending 07-06-2009 10:21 AM

LDW is the sequel?

Doc Faustus 07-06-2009 10:23 AM

Sorry, that stands for Life During Wartime.

Kleptron 07-06-2009 10:34 AM

Saturday I had a boner but I rubbed it out. Now everything is OK.

Doc Faustus 07-06-2009 10:52 AM

Great story. How much for the options? I'm thinking Patrick Dempsey as the boner and Chris Tucker as you.

Zero 07-06-2009 11:18 AM

great news doc. if you make it out east let me know. i went to a great signing at the wilkesbarre PA barnes and noble (of all places). but the signing was in october and had brian keene and a whole bunch of great folks - i think it was put on by the Horror Writers Association or some affiliated group

scouse mac 07-06-2009 12:04 PM

Sounds like its gradually all falling together for you Doc. Looking forward to the sequel so it had better be good!

No pressure! :D

fortunato 07-06-2009 08:46 PM

You could send me a copy and an SASE. I'd gladly sign it and send it back. I'm fresh out of H8s. When part 2 comes out, I'm going to set aside a few autographed copies to sell to HDCers specifically.

Excellent. I'll be getting on this soon, then.
