Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!

VampiricClown 07-05-2009 04:11 PM

i'm having the same problem.

VampiricClown 07-05-2009 04:17 PM

I think I've found the solution.

I'll watch it tonight. Maybe even post a review.

:D

neverending 07-05-2009 04:52 PM

It's a .mov file, which means you need Quicktime from Apple to view it.

I have that, but for some reason, when this computer crashed one time, certain video files won't play. Even after installing updates, etc..

bwind22 07-05-2009 08:23 PM

If you get it to work, let me know what you think. If you don't get it to work, no biggie.

VampiricClown 07-06-2009 08:55 AM

Just watched it, and posted a review on my page:

Do Not Disturb (2009)

bwind22 07-06-2009 12:41 PM

Thanks for the detailed and insightful review VC! Much appreciated! Glad you enjoyed it. :)

neverending 07-06-2009 12:44 PM

I'll have to agree that the acting is above par with what you'd see in these indi shorts. The guy is really good especially when he throws his fit.

Hey HDC- you should watch this little gem!

scouse mac 07-06-2009 12:53 PM

My laptop isnt playing it and cant think of a reason why, any chance this can go on youtube or somewhere else?

neverending 07-06-2009 12:55 PM

Do you have Quicktime?

Anytime! I enjoy watching films such as this. And being made very well, are all the more enjoyable.

Let me know when you do some more films, and I'll be sure to get you a review for them.

:)

bwind22 07-06-2009 01:03 PM

Scouse, eventually it'll end up on Youtube but right now, while I am entering it in to contests and festivals, I have to keep it off there for eligibility reasons. It should play in Quicktime, which I think most people have on their computers. If not, I think there are free versions available for download online, probably somewhere like www.downloads.com

Thanks again NE! I was impressed with Lawrence's acting as well. I actually put an ad on craigslist and held a casting call for this film. It was my first time doing that, but it was nice to have some selection for the roles instead of just being limited to friends and family members with no experience.

Thanks again! This is my 3rd short film, so I have 2 others.

Witches Woods is available on Youtube. It was my first film, made on a $20 budget. I purchased editing software for $20 and wanted footage to practice editing with so I talked my cousin, brother and future sister in law in to heading up to the cabin and shooting some footage. This film is the result.

Everyday Hero is too long for Youtube and would require being broken into multiple videos so it is not available online, however the trailer is available here.....

I'll definitely get you a review on Witches Woods over the next couple of days. Do you have a poster/cover art for my page? Also, I just need a confirmation on a year.

Everyday hero looks hilarious. Have to figure something out on that.

Witches Woods (10 minutes, $20 budget) - 2007
Everyday Hero (18 minutes, $100 budget) - 2008
Do Not Disturb (6 minutes, $40 budget) -2009

All 3 were shot on a Sony Handycam that I received as a wedding present and edited with Magix Movie Edit Pro 11, which I purchased for $20.

Here's the Witches Woods cover art.

Your chart proves one thing as a definite....You don't have to have a big budget, to make a good movie.

Thanks for the info and poster. Will try to get on it tomorrow or Wednesday.

VERY cool, Bwind! Nice work with the direction and the music (did you or someone write it yourselves?)

Good luck with the festival circuit - Let us know how it goes!!!

bwind22 07-07-2009 01:44 PM

Thanks for checking it out Chrono! I'll definitely keep you posted.

Zero, that character is known as Gay Cupid and, unfortunately, I can't take credit for him. My brother came up with that one.

GorePhobia 07-07-2009 04:00 PM

Great work, Brian!

I thought the twist at the end was really good. I also didn't seen it coming. The acting was pretty good and the pacing was very well.

Great stuff.

newb 07-07-2009 04:47 PM

nice job.....how did you get the hotel....friend work there?

I manage the hotel so I just had to give myself permission. ;) Thanks for checking it out.

roshiq 07-08-2009 04:28 AM

Just watched it now! Pretty impressive indeed. Your works have been improved a lot since my last seen short film of yours..Witches Woods. Nice little twisted story with good casts. Bravo Man! Kudos to your effort...hoping more to see in future. Carry on, horrordude!:)

You guys hiring? I could use a new job... ;)

And as a perk you get to be in horror movies!

bwind22 07-08-2009 01:29 PM

Thanks Roshiq! I feel like I learn a ton and improve every time I shoot one. Witches Woods was my 1st film, this was my 3rd so there's a lot of growing as a filmmaker that has taken place in between the two.

Sorry Chrono, we're not hiring at the moment. I can tell the economy is still in slump though because I am still receiving 12-15 applications per week and that's after we tell people we aren't hiring right now. You probably wouldn't wanna work there anyway though. We don't pay very well and I hear the boss is a total asshole. ;)

bwind22 07-10-2009 09:02 AM

Just an update here...

So far the feedback I'm receiving in the contest the film is entered in has been positive enough that I am actually thinking I may have a chance at advancing to the 2nd stage of the competition. I'll keep you posted.

VampiricClown 07-10-2009 12:32 PM

I wanted to apologize for not having a review on "Witches Woods" as quick as I'd planned. Some work just came up, and it's still going to be a little while.

bwind22 07-10-2009 08:29 PM

No worries. That film has been online for 2+ years now so any feedback I receive at this point is just icing on the cake. No hurry.

Curses!! :p

Well, the offer still stands... I can make beds and am one HELL of an extra. ;)
