movies you cant find.

Here's an idea. How abouts people can post movies they are trying to find, and if anyone knows by any chance where to find a copy they can post a link? i think it would be helpful possibly. anyways, anyone know where I can get a copy of

Galaxy of Terror (the 1980's sci-fi flick, not the 4 movie pack one)

Goblet of Gore (it was in stock a couple of time at xploitedcinema, but not any longer and I can't find it anywhere else)

urgeok2 06-05-2009 05:10 AM

The ORIGINAL version of THX 1138. It was only released on lasardisc. Lucas has since "improved" it and it's his bastardized version that is available on DVD.

Oh, yes, Amazon. When I am looking for something rare, I often check Amazon, and I very often find what I'm looking for--usually in the form of an old VHS tape that doesn't cost very much.

I must have only ever seen the "improved" version, then... Unless the original was on VHS too (I saw it on VHS back in the day).

So Star Wars weren't the only films that he bastardized? Wow. Makes me hate him even more.

What was different/worse?

i doubt if that galaxy of terror on DVD is origional.

I mentioned to Sid Haig ant the con last year that i wish it was on DVD .. and he said : so do i !

getting a 'copy' is ok - as long as you dont pay too much for it.

As far as I know, yes. This movie is legendary as being lost for good because Lucas refuses to release the original.

Chrono- I have no idea about the vhs. Possibly it was the original.

There is a torrent rip of the laserdisc. I haven't been able to actually find it. This is the only movie I would download because of the creator's refusal to let the original be seen.

I think it is a copy of the original Region 2 MGM Italy release which I own. Has a mono English track but the movie sure looks gorgeous on widescreen presentation.

Here's a review + some screencaps...

Wow I didn't know THX-1138 was remastered like the Star Wars flicks.

I've only seen an old as fuck VHS tape of it.

You're lucky- the new version completely changed the feeling of the picture.

What's up with him doing that? If he didn't like how his earlier work turned out he should make some new films he's happy with. Dude's a total hack these days cashing in on his former glories.

That's funny, I didn't know what this film was...but I picked it up super-cheap second hand...it's in this tiny, really old looking paper cover so I'm hoping it might be the original. Great condition for it's age though...

Got this other one that was evidently from around the same time called "where have all the people gone?" same kind've cover.
I love getting old tapes.

The one I'm waiting for on dvd is hyper sapien

great film!

I saw it in the theater last summer... good times. A friend of mine recently acquired a 35mm print of the film and it should be re-released by Grindhouse Releasing sometime next year.

The Mothman 06-06-2009 07:06 PM

I first heard about it from your suggestion in the Action/exploitation thread, so i read a review and it sounded awesome, good thing its getting a proper dvd release.
