Nice editing job. Well done. I give it a B+. I took off points because the font at the end is really hard to read.

missmacabre 05-07-2009 04:46 PM

I really liked your quotes at the beginning. :D

newb 05-07-2009 05:00 PM

I normally wouldn't bother looking....but NE gave it praise so it peaked my interest.

good job

I also agree about the font at the end

scouse mac 05-07-2009 05:03 PM

That was really good, job well done

Wow, you're several times smarter than anybody else who would decide to do an ultimate horror montage! Well done. My only critique is that all the stuff is effects laden contemporary films. Max Shreck, Peter Lorre's steampunk Mad Love outfit and any number of other black and white images would have provided cool contrast and been pretty freaky alongside this stuff. I'm with everybody else on the font at the end. About one in three titles verge on illegible.

thunderf78 05-07-2009 06:15 PM

if you watch it in hq its a lot clearer but now that i watched it again I agree!
thanks for the positive feedback!

I definitely agree with Doc here. Mix it up. If you're going to make the ultimate horror montage, you need to include it all. Silent, Universal, Hammer, exploitation, etc.
Oh, and like everyone else already said, definitely fix the font at the end.

With that being said, you certainly have a knack for making this type of thing, especially evident in the first minute or so of the video.

Well-done.

what?! someone coming on HDC and taking constructive criticism??? No snide remarks about how we're blind cause we can't read the font? No complaints that we are boring and have a stupid forum?

You sir, should stick around. :D

well if I can't take criticism I shouldn't post it where anyone in the world can see it!!;) I like hearing what people have to say about my movies. thats how I make them better!!!

Nice work - short snappy clips.

The different aspect ratios was slightly distracting and i'd definally redo the titles but it was really good...

well I just had an idea I think I'll make another montage!!"Ultimate horror origins". that will go through all the old movies. what do you guys think?

I working on my Ultimate scenes from NaziExploitation films atm as part of my never to be released Youtube show.

Papillon Noir 05-08-2009 05:29 AM

@thunder
Great job! I really enjoyed the opening quotes. I disagree with the others about adding classical horror since it's such an energetic modern song, I think the contemporary clips are appropriate, though maybe not call the montage "ultimate". I thought your editing could be a little tighter in places, as sometimes it's a little off of the song, but otherwise really enjoyed it! :D

I'd be interested in seeing that. :)

I thoroughly enjoyed it. The fact that so many people on this forum watched it and enjoyed is a credit to it's worth. A lot of the time people just ignore these kind of things. Very well put together. What film was it where the girl put the woman's finger into her forehead?

thunderf78 05-08-2009 08:05 PM

the only problem is that there are way more vampire movies than werewolf!

neverending 05-08-2009 09:14 PM

There are more werewolf movies than you think. You need to look back to the beginning. And you don't have to show every vampire movie, do you? You're a creative guy- get with it.

missmacabre 05-08-2009 09:28 PM

Vampire vs. Werewolf you say? Maybe you should wait until the new Twilight movie comes out and include some of that. :D

This is a joke btw. My pretending to be a Twilight fan in order to make fun of Twilight fans is backfiring lately.

thunderf78 05-09-2009 05:02 AM

ya what the hell is twilight??? No fangs????SPARKLE IN SUNLIGHT???? what the heck are they trying to do with vampires???de-horrify them and make them all 90210. I am all for a little twilight bashing!:D

roshiq 05-09-2009 05:12 AM

Nice job done.:)

thunderf78 05-09-2009 10:51 AM

Thanks. I am glad that people other than myself enjoy my work!

Two words, my friend: Paul Naschy.

ChronoGrl 05-09-2009 03:28 PM

I agree on all points. Very well done. Definitely a lot of good creepy moments in there punctuated by Manson. Would be interested to see more classic monsters and scenes in there, but this is a brilliant start.
