Ridiculous horror movies

What I mean by this is movies in a similiar boat as Braindead. I've always been the type to not watch a movie being that it is unrealistic. For the first time I watched Braindead and I was never so entertained by a movie. This film opened my eyes to try some films that are more out of this world. So what are some suggestions of some crazy ass movies (that are good of course) similiar to Braindead?

Elvis_Christ 02-22-2009 06:54 PM

Re-Animator would be a good place to start.

Return Of The Living Dead and Blood Diner come to mind too.

scarecrow666 02-23-2009 05:52 AM

Peter Jacksons other film = Bad Taste. It kicks ass.;)
Or
The Feast trilogy are really good as well.

Rodus 02-23-2009 08:41 AM

Second the Feast trilogy, and give Black Sheep a try, daft but great fun.

Papillon Noir 02-23-2009 10:17 AM

I second Black Sheep. Also Evil Dead II, Army of Darkness and Slither.

Samhain247 02-23-2009 11:01 AM

Return of the living dead, Shaun of the dead;O

Basket case

no wait, where did that come from:rolleyes:

Wow yeah, evil aliens really suck

UngodlyWarlock 02-23-2009 11:35 AM

Evil Aliens was a fun movie for sure.
Definitely gotta throw a vote out for Street Trash....

Also Terror Firmer and Poultreygeist are some recent movies out of Troma that have been pretty insane.

The Feast sequels seem to do different things for different people. Most like the first, seems like a lot hate the 2nd (which I don't get...I thought it was hilarious. Especially the baby scene), and the 3rd people seem to be 50/50 on (I personally despised the 3rd one). So, I guess watch all 3 to judge for yourself, but they definitely deserve to be up there.

-D

scarecrow666 02-23-2009 12:11 PM

Planet Terror. Fucking awesome.:D

La Chat Noire 02-23-2009 03:11 PM

I second Planet Terror.

Jack Frost in a pretty fun and ridiculous one too.

ChronoGrl 02-23-2009 03:45 PM

I agree with many of the aforementioned and then highly recommend: Go Asian:

Elvis_Christ 02-23-2009 04:35 PM

Street Trash and Basket Case both rule. Brain Damage is essential viewing too.

Black Sheep is fucking lame. Its the visual equivalent of smearing shit all over your TV screen.

Yes! Brain Damage is a blast! Sooo funny.

Aylmer is great.

I'll recommend Microwave Massacre, Troll 2, and if you can ever track down a copy, Ratboy.

This will get flamed to oblivion, but I actually like the crappy SciFi original movies. They suck--oh yes, they suck royally--but the ones that acknowledge that they suck can be fairly entertaining, on a fart joke, nubile women in peril level. If I paid anything to see them, it would be too much, but since they're on basic cable, I don't mind kickin' back with a beer and killing some brain cells with them.

milktoaste 02-23-2009 07:57 PM

Trailor Park of Terror was rediculous, I kinda liked it too.

Haha, one of our esteemed HDC crew actually has written a couple of those.
Where are you, Rod?

Trashy shit just has a lot more escapism doesn't it? Flicks you don't have to take too seriously are more of a relaxing watch.

Evil Bong With Tommy Chong

Roderick Usher 03-03-2009 11:53 AM

Idle Hands was delightfully stupid

Night of the Creeps rules

The Stuff is pretty fun

but I gotta say no the the SciFi Channel shit - toxic!! Keep away from ears and eyes!

except Mammoth...;)

Zombietooth 03-03-2009 12:07 PM

Evil dead II of course, The Stuff, The Gate, Dead Heat, and Evil Bong.

The Mothman 03-04-2009 02:44 AM

Street trash for sure, but i will always regard Zombie Doom as the most ridiculous horror movie.

Elvis_Christ 03-04-2009 11:52 PM

I've been meaning to check out Dead Heat

milktoaste 03-06-2009 11:11 AM

Death Becomes Her

Barely qualifies as horror, but all rediculous.

That one had Summer Glau in it, didn't it?

That'll raise any F movie to at least a B.
