Finally revealed - ___V___'s daily life in pictures!
Yes, the mysterious __V__ has a daily real life too, (for reals!!) in which he grinds himself from morning till night everyday (except weekends), managing between a full-time job, family, and social responsibilities.
Very surprised? I know...but like I keep telling young FerretChucker, its all about time management. Anyway, my home is a modestly large house. With 3 bedrooms and attached toilets for each, drawing and living room spaces, dining room and kitchen, plus 2 storerooms to stash the (immediate) unwanted stuff away. Most houses here are made according to floor maps which do not have attics or cellars, so none of those exist in our house either. This is the drawing room, the first room you ll see as soon as you enter our home (from the left) :- http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1...0022009019.jpg From another angle (shows my work table in the corner) :- http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1...0022009020.jpg The regular car (Maruti Suzuki Esteem, used by me) :- http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1...0022009021.jpg The second car (Maruti Suzuki 800, used for short trips, and by wifey) :- http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1...0022009023.jpg The Bike and the bikette (she hates that word!) :- http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1...0022009022.jpg |
cool place ...
how often do the bikes get out ? |

I take it out for weekend shopping and for a drive, usually when we decide to eat out at someplace nearby, or when we decide to go visit relatives. She uses hers more often. She finds it easier to move back and forth with. The car she uses for shopping, long drives to meetings etc. She works too...as an Accountant. |

Her officewear is different - sometimes the salwar kameez (often worn by Punjabi women), and sometimes shirt and jeans. Makes it easier to ride the bike too, doncha think? |
This is my wife Anya weeks before our marriage :-

Looks like a beautiful home and a very fulfilling life. Congratulations and thanks for sharing.
|
Thanks, Doc.
Its a tough life - with both of us busy in full-time jobs...managing home and office together can be pretty stressful sometimes. The weekends are our stress relievers, basically. It gives us time to be together and to manage all jobs at home which are pending for the week. The holidays are our real getaways. We look forward to escaping reality with a long tour somewhere out of town. Best time of the year - the summer vacations. :) |
great thread - i know where i'm staying if we ever visit india :)
|
rofl...you are always welcome.
About time you decided to take a long vacation around the world and come visit me (and certain others too!). Mark would love this place, as will his daddy. :) |
Thanks for sharing all that V. You have a beautiful home, a beautiful wife and a beautiful doggie. I hope Rolls is doing better and you all are doing well. :) Balancing busy work lives and home life can be stressful, but it sounds like you guys know what's important and find time to be together as a family, and in my opinion, that's the key. Peace.

You have a very nice home V and I think its only fair you share your secret. You have your lovely wife smiling in a post marriage photo and it would appear she is genuinely happier being married! I better start paying my wife more attention or something!:D
Thanks for sharing |
Very cool, V!

well, Australia/New Zealand is the 1st dot on our map - maybe next year ... but after that - who knows ... India looks amazing |
Wow, V! You certainly have a wonderful home, and an exciting life (as stressful as it is). I'm glad you've decided to share it with us here!
I'd better start saving up for a trip to India, too. Oh, and Rolls is quite an adorable pup. How is he doing? Do you know anything yet? |
Very nice V. Nice home ya got there and a pretty wife.
A bit disappointed though........I didn't notice any beer bottles laying around. :D |
Hello Avinash Bhai!

Wow! This is the first great surprise of the year! It's really very nice to see you man! And it's nicer to see a great man practically living a sweet, simple & wonderful life that an ordinary man like me can always imagine. Anyway, as being a 'close' neighbor of you now I'm also thinking to make a visit at your place someday:D. Give my Salam & best wishes to our _V_abi! Btw, where's your precious DVD collection?;) |

I am sure you ll like it here. Quote:
Rolls is doing quite well. The meds and shots he's on right now seem to be working a wee bit. He stands a lot more now (still limps though), and the 2 nodules on his tail look a bit smaller than before. The docs will be arriving tomorrow morning to give their diagnosis though, so we will really know if he has improved any. Thanks for inquiring, bud. :) Quote:
j/k...I dont drink, and neither does she. Quote:
I posted pics of my collection not too long back. Will take some new ones soon. |

I am terribly disappointed with that flick. Not only does it portray this country differently, but also because Danny Boyle has come across as a very responsible and talented filmmaker. For him to make this flick, AND collecting awards for his effort, is a really sad and pathetic fact. People need to wake up away from this "fantasy" real life that Slumdog has portrayed of India. The real India is far, far different. Although I have been planning for this thread for quite some time. Slumdog certainly wasnt the ONLY reason behind this effort. Quote:

FINALLY! And thanks for the mention as well. You must be bloody amazing at time management though, to do all the wonderful stuff you do here and spend time with the wife, work and all of the other daily activities. Bravo!
Really interesting to see what Indian life is like, as it is with any culture (except the dutch. Damn them all). Really nice home you've got there. The outside views of India remind me a bit of Egypt. I know they're in 2 different continents, but there is something there that seems familiar. |
The open roads on both sides must leave that impression of Egypt.
The area where I live and the road leading to my office is actually out in the suburb outskirts of the city. It is still under plenty of development (roads widening, underground cable & underground drainage/sewage systems), so pavements and streets are still a few years off. These same driving pics would look much more sophisticated and crowded in about 5 years or so. The city is developing in this direction at a rapid pace, and the real estate rates have shot up about 5-6 times in the past couple years. |
This is so cool. I love being able to picture who I am talking to online. Your wife is beautiful by the way, and your puppy looks so cute. :D

i think it is time for an HDC global road-trip. seriously, some intrepid HDCer should travel the globe meeting up with other HDC folks - I know we've got US, UK and Europe covered as well as NZ, AU and India - that's a pretty good trip

Cool pictures _V_, love the digs.
