best endings **SPOILER WARNING!!!**

What are your favorite endings to horror movies? And why?
I'd have to go with Se7en and The Wicker Man. Se7en's ending was really unexpected, but I liked that Mills shot him. The Wicker Man's ending was a bit more predictable (I didn't really see it coming, but I wasn't surprised), but when they actually revealed the Wicker Man, that's one of my favorite moments in a movie period. Edward Woodward sold it perfectly.

AmarylandPsycho 03-18-2004 11:32 PM

Wicker Man Is Wicked Cool. I like the whole rabbit representing Rowan. Clever Tricksy island people

Killer Clown#1 03-19-2004 03:29 AM

Not a horror movie by any means but I thought Foolproof had a great ending along with signs, and the others

conductor31 03-19-2004 04:53 AM

I think Fargo had a great ending, I know it's not horror but ending a movie by shoving body parts in a chipper was fucken awsome! The sound was dope too.

Vodstok 03-19-2004 05:03 AM

The Ususal Suspects....

Best Ending Ever.

Thaide 03-19-2004 11:29 AM

I think the ending to Aliens is one of the best ever. I wish I had a power loader :(

StaggerLee 03-19-2004 01:33 PM

Jeepers Creepers has a pretty good ending. I didn't like the movie it self that much, but I have to say that I really enjoyed seeing that poor boy getting killed

crazy clown 03-19-2004 05:21 PM

i hated the way jeepers creepers ended. Also if anyone has the clerks dvd out there and saw the original ending, i thought that that was a bummer ending, i'm glad they decided to cut that.

friday the 13th
great ending

abbra cadaver 03-20-2004 04:56 PM

the endings to the three stories from tales from the darkside all of em were great but i really liked cat from hell and lovers vow

massacre man 03-20-2004 07:40 PM

halloween 4

thepsychicfetus 03-20-2004 08:28 PM

butterfly effect wasnt bad

heapodd 03-21-2004 01:03 PM

Not necessarily the best ending but certainly the most shocking was Carrie.

Sam The Egg 03-21-2004 01:22 PM

Passion of the Christ. I never would've seen THAT coming

Sister_Blister 03-21-2004 01:29 PM

I liked the ending to The Ring. Coz the movie was more disturbing than scary as such

And it goes "what about those who have seen the tape"

ssscccsssshhhh

Or maybe it was the fact I watched it at 2am in the morning on my own in the dark - lol

Killer Clown#1 03-21-2004 05:07 PM

yup - the ending was cool :) !!

Killer Priest 03-22-2004 04:49 AM

Ditto.
Bless you all!!

Vodstok 03-22-2004 12:28 PM

The ending was awesome. One of the truly great down ending. I also like the fact that it is open ended... Were they over run, or did they swim away? did one or all die? did none? Who can tell? If they want all of them back for day, they can. if they want none, Same thing.

That movie fucking rocked.

Weird Terrain 03-22-2004 02:48 PM

I would say the ending to Ringu, The Usual Suspects and "1984" are all pretty cool endings. Just to name a few :)

thepsychicfetus 03-22-2004 06:29 PM

i agree with everyone, especially the dawn of the dead

Amalthea 03-22-2004 11:57 PM

Endings

The endings in The Others, What Lies Beneath, The Ring, and the ending of Arlington Road if it counts.

Good call on the first three (never saw arlington road). I had actually forgotten wbout what lies beneath. Who knew harrison ford could play such a good asshole? He always seemed like a cool dad-type guy to me. The woman at the end was scary as hell, too. I can see why seeing her killed him.

Sam The Egg 03-23-2004 12:46 PM

I know it's not horror, but best ending ever = Casablanca

i liked the ending to forest gump, and saving private ryan.

KRUGERKID13 03-24-2004 10:05 PM

I know this is said alot but i definetly think the ending to the first sleepaway camp is one of the best.

the shape 2004 03-26-2004 09:05 AM

the ending to sleeptstalker sandman's last rites was the best one for a low budget flicks.

DAWNOFTHEDEAN 03-28-2004 09:11 AM

Thought the ending to cabin fever was pretty cool - Virus Awaaay

The worst and most pointless ending ive ever witnessed is to Lucio Fulci's City of the living dead if anyone else has seen it, WTF IS THAT ALL ABOUT???????????

GorePhobia 03-29-2004 04:56 PM

the new dawn of the dead ending was fucking awesome.....i think they all died....lol but ya never know.....i also like Nightmare on Elm Street's ending with the convertable and the mom getting sucked into the house

crazy clown 03-29-2004 05:10 PM

yeah the ne dawn and NOES ending was cool.

btw, did anybody find the alternate ending for NOES in the labyrinth dvd. your supposed to go to like the door at the end of the hall with all the diamond shapes on it and just hit 20 and enter or something like that but it wouldn't work for me. did anybody else have better luck?

rubenmania 03-29-2004 05:48 PM

The Others & The Sixth Sense & Jacobs Ladder

That whole thing started off really cool but it got really monotonous after a while. Maybe i just need to spend a little more time on it.

bloodrayne 03-29-2004 09:07 PM

I loved the ending to Darkness Falls...Of course, that's just because I was really glad that it ENDED:rolleyes:

Blob 03-30-2004 03:23 AM

Endings

I totally agree with the ending to The usual suspects...

but to be a sight corny I thought the ending to Billy Elliot was magnificent...Simple yet powerful.

thepsychicfetus 03-30-2004 04:28 PM

i kinda liked the ending of Snow White with sigourney weaver, just because a mirror explodes sending shards of glass shooting into her face, then she stumbles backward, catches fire, and is crushed to death by a large wooden beam. i was impressed.

TheShape 03-30-2004 04:53 PM

Cemetery Man had the best ending ever.

I also liked the ending to "The Wicker Man."

Also, I'd like to throw in "The Sixth Sense" and "The Others." Those are a new breed of horror movies that try to trick you.... and I felt for it!! (with both of them)

*SPOILER*
Now, going back just a year or two, as far as horror-types go, I have to give high marks for "Freddy Vs. Jason." It was certainly great of the makers to have them both die (and then, of course, have them both live!). This ending should have satisfied all the Jason fans and all the Freddy fans.
