January 20th: Inaugaration Day
 

Hey guys. I was just wondering if anyone on HDC is traveling to Washington, DC to the inaugaration ceremony. It's been a tradition of mine to always watch it--regardless of who the president was--well in my lifetime, it's been just Clinton and Bush (I wasn't born in the 80s to catch the other Bush's inaugaration but I did witness Clinton and the 2nd Bush's ones) I hear DC's expecting 5,000,000,000 people--but that number may increase as the days leading up get closer. For anyone who is heading there expect traffic to be crazy as is usually is but I would reccommend leaving maybe 1 to 2 days before--because of the largely anticipated crowd. I thought tickets ran out to attend, but apparently people are still suggesting more may be issued--I'm not exactly sure about that. I thought people were suppose to request tickets from their own state's representatives for the ceremony, though.

Any way, I know not everyone on HDC is amped about politics as I am, or maybe even at all, but for anyone that is, I want to hear your thoughts? Anyone, a tad bit excited? :confused: :)

He won. He's the president. I don't see the big deal about a formality.

Honestly, the crowd will most likely be bored self-important college students with nothing better to do and looking for a cause to support and excuse to drink intellectually. I'm over all that.

I don't see the point in that since i never tried arguing (no "e") politics with you. So good for you!

Not a fan, fuckin' groupies for a president... damn kids and their You Tube and their Music Television that doesn't play music and their Jonas Brothers...

My bad...minus three on the zeros there ....every now and then I miscalculate how many zeros differeniate between million, billion, and trillion. Oops. :confused: :o

I see. Understandable and I respect that.

And I think the ceremony's 2 months, 2 weeks, and 2 days after the win--at least for this year it seems. :p :D

Not all are mere, groupies, Despare. And yeah I do get your point though on how annoying and irritating it seems on some of the pop-culture my generation figuratively worships. :rolleyes:

But there's hope out there....I'm not into the Hannah Montana, Jonas Brothers, or any other music/movie "trends," that lack any substantive, concise, or meaningful purpose as did years before. :) And I'm sure there are a few here on HDC that also defy that aspect of the current generation----in a positive way of course. :) Uh, massacreman? ferretchucker? Any of you guys understand where I'm getting at--or attempting to get at? :confused:

Hahahaha, the name's Shannon by the way. And yes nope not into the stuff as I mentioned in the previous post. There are some good but "rare" ones left of us. :)
