Sequels prefered over the original
 

Was just wondering if anybody prefers any horror movie sequels over the original? I don't mean so much in terms of the quality of the production more along the lines of just enjoying them more to watch.

I will always say that NOES 4 is my favourite and the one I always find myself watching.

And Friday The 13th 4 is also my favourite out of that series.

Plus I much prefer The Fly 2 over the remake of The Fly.

Friday 6, Red Dragon, But I dont know if you would count that.....

And I KNOW this isnt horror but how could you have a thread like this and not invoke the holy trilogy..... Empire Strikes Back BAAAAAABIIIIIIEEEEEE!!!!!!

I agree on Friday 4 or The Final Chapter. I always thought that was the best one.
I preferred Aliens over Alien.

Not too many sequels are better than the original. I gotta give it some more thought, and the lunch buzzer just went off sooooo back to work I go.

Does that mean I can include Dawn Of The Dead over Night/Dead?

(I agree with Empire Strikes Back, but the only thing scary in the trilogy was the Ewoks).

Good call - I forgot Blade 2 over Blade! The first one sucked but the 2nd was great.

I actually liked the first Blade much more than the second. As for sequels. Aliens and Evil Dead II of course. The first Evil Dead is still great though.

TCM 2 over the original I love the original as well but love the second for Chop Top.

Also Friday The 13th part 3.

Anyways, the first FT13 wasn't my favorite, but I really wouldn't know which one was. The original "Halloween" also wasn't my favorite. I liked Scream 3 better than Scream 2 if that counts. That's all I can really think of right now. I've never seen the original "Alien" but "Aliens" is tight as hell.

this is just my opinion but i hated tmc2 but its you call. i think toy story 2 kicked toy story 1 ass. lol. its just me but i thought blair witch 2 the book of shadows was better than the origional.

Terminator 2 owns all over the first one. Creepshow 2 owns the first one too i think.

I would say aliens as well but i saw the original in the theater on its rerelease and really enjoyed the more Horror elements in it.

If it counts, Dawn of the Dead was WAY better than Night of the Living Dead IMO

I know its not horror but Godfather part 2 kicks Godfather part one's ass.
Blade 2 is also miles better than the original and have to strongly disagree that TCM2 is better than TCM what planet do you live on!!:confused:

Hey dumb fuck I didn't say TCM2 was better than the original I said I preffered the second myself because of Bill mosely as the Character Chop Top, Bill mosely is one of my favorite horror actors. I love TCM just as much as the next guy and actually think the original is far better that 2 as far as the story and creepiness goes.

Most of these right here I like better then the original, Puppet Master 2&3, Blade 2, Texas Chainsaw remake(I don't care what you think :D ), Aliens, Dawn and Day of the dead, and Friday the 13th part 2,4, and 7.

I would have to say I liked Critters 2 equally if not a little more than the first one.

Predator 2, only because I like the idea of a predator loose in a metropolis than stalking a smaller prey in the jungle.

Demons 2 over Demons

Fright Night 2 over Fright Night

Terminator 3 0wned T1 and T2. Although all three movies still kick ass.

not a horror movie but i like x2 over the first one. don't get me wrong i like them both but i like the 2nd one better though

i highly agree. x2 kicked ass. preferred aliens over alien, t2 over terminator, hated jeepers creepers, but enjoyed jc2, can't really remember it, but i think i preferred child's play 2 over 1...

Friday the 13th part 1 was one of my least favourite out of Friday the 13th series.

ANOES 3 and FvJ i prefer ovey ANOES.

Evil Dead 2 i prefer than Evil Dead.

Halloween is one of my least favourite of the Halloween series.

Return of the Jedi i prefer over A New Hope.

Return of the King and Two Towers i prefer over Fellowship.

Terminator 2 i prefer over Terminator.

Aliens i prefer over Alien

Dawn of the Dead i prefer over Night

Final Destination 2 i prefer than Final Destination.
