Is Jason X canon?

If so, then does that mean that the Friday series is over for good?

Tony 10-07-2003 04:49 AM

You know, I still think that somewhere down the road they will make a straight up plotless Camp Crystal Lake Jason flick just for nostalgic purposes. I'd watch it. That'd be great!

Deadbodyman 10-07-2003 10:32 AM

You know at the end of Jason X there he lands in that lake on "Earth 2" and there is a hint of a sequal, and if you listen to the directors commentary on the dvd he says they could possible bring him back there (like it or not??)

Sick_As_Fuck 10-07-2003 11:00 AM

True, but that whole feature thing kinda turns me off.

Leatherface 10-07-2003 02:58 PM

This Movie Was So Dumb. They Killed It With The Robot Ninja Crap. Long Live Freddy!

avenger00soul 10-07-2003 03:16 PM

Jason X was funny as hell. Great film.

thehalk 10-11-2003 05:02 PM

jason x

i think it was ok but when they made the nija gurls that did kinda kill it

roguesblight 10-12-2003 12:10 AM

I liked Jason X simply because it was a Jason flick. But, where did it fall continuum wise? I mean, where did Freddy vs. Jason line up time wise with Jason X? Cause he didn't look all upgraded in the Freddy vs. Jason movie. Anyone got a clue as to when Jason X fits in? Just a thought that ran through my head. Like the one where I wonder where the hell Laurie Strode's son was in the last Halloween? I wonder tiny things like that once in a while!

Sick_As_Fuck 10-12-2003 02:29 AM

I read that the Freddy/Jason series was gonna be its own lil' saga.

Tony 10-12-2003 04:39 AM

If you are going to put Jason X into any kind of continuity of all (though I feel it's not meant to be) it would have to go after Freddy vs. Jason. We don't know how those folks captured Jason in the begining of Jason X necessarily. So best way to think of it is that after Jason emerged from the lake in Freddy vs. Jason, the agents ventured to Crystal Lake and captured him leading into Jason X.

Blizz 10-13-2003 06:44 PM

In an interview Kirzinger said that this film falls inbetween JGTH and Jason X. They asked him about a sequel but he made some kind of joke about money but that he was interested. I don't care if its Kirzinger or Hodder, I want some more Jason :D

Tony 10-13-2003 07:02 PM

I agree. I want more Jason. I think ken did a fine job anyway.

Sean1605 10-14-2003 04:15 AM

I would love to see more seperate Jason films, to complete the original 13 they planned all those years ago.

I wasn't, and I'm still not, a big fan of the whole "versus" idea. But I understand it had to be done due to fan demand. But they did that, and we don't need another one.

Personally, I loved Jason X, but I'm a sucker for cheesy sci-fi, and add to that a bad ass Jason and some cool kills, and there's one great movie for me. I love it.

moonsorrow 10-17-2003 07:44 PM

so whats the general opinion (not that i care) about jason x, i havent seen it yet for some bizzare reason.

I loved it, but it seems like it's the end of the Jason chapter. Unless they continue it in the future like someone mentioned in this thread. If you're a fan of Friday flicks then you need to check this out for sure.

roguesblight 10-18-2003 09:41 PM

I agree! If you are a Jason fan, definately see it! Jason with a sci-fi twist.

moonsorrow 10-19-2003 03:44 AM

oh i will definatley check it out, and if you ask me they dont realy need a good reason or story to resurect him, just stick him in a cabin full of teens and let him do his thing, am i right?

unbroken 10-19-2003 04:29 AM

i think jason x should be a whole other series in it's own
then they could put freddy in the future
and have the terminator find neo and destroy the matrix
then jesus comes back
now that would kick a lot of the asshole
take it easy
charlie

moonsorrow 10-19-2003 05:20 AM

im going to assume unbroken was being sarcastic

avenger00soul 10-19-2003 07:48 AM

Do you even have to assume?

moonsorrow 10-19-2003 08:28 AM

not realy, but its fun, you try it

avenger00soul 10-19-2003 09:53 AM

Well, you know what they say about assuming...

unbroken 10-19-2003 07:32 PM

Okay? I guess it that's how they wanna make it! Sure I'd see it also! Could be a very interesting flik!

Now could someone tell me who charlie is? And why the hell he/she has to take it easy? Or should I save that question for my horror unknowns thread? HAHA :D

unbroken 10-20-2003 06:32 AM

i'm telling you guys to take it easy
and my name is charlie
here we go
take it easy
charlie

unbroken 10-20-2003 06:34 AM

it would be a milestone in the evolution of movie making
or something i'm just trying to sound smart
take it easy

Hey, if you can make me and my daughter "Samara" really scared by directing a movie, I say go to it! We are just dying to be scared!

Killer Clown#1 10-21-2003 04:43 PM

When it comes to making a movie scary I'm the one to talk to:) . Once I showed one of my movies to my family (Corn Stalker) that I directed and it scared the shit out of them:D .

roguesblight 10-21-2003 05:21 PM

actually we keep talking about the directors making a movie scary, when actually it starts with the writers!

Killer Clown#1 10-22-2003 06:04 AM

But the directors are the ones that make it look scary.

take it easy

FreddyFan 10-26-2003 07:35 AM

This movie rocks!

This movie kicked ass! Jason X is the best of the series. It's both funny and scary. If you haven't seen Jason X then you're missing out on a hell of a good movie. I give it five out of five stars. Excellent!

Damn Heathen 03-27-2015 03:13 PM

Charlie, settle down. Better yet, take it easy.

MichaelMyers 03-27-2015 03:23 PM

To answer this 15 year old question, yes, it belongs in the canon.
